This is happening to multiple titles at the moment. I understand it is affecting this one specifically for you but the team is getting everything slowly back up and running. Some issues may take longer than others due to many different factors that don't apply to everyone.
So is there any new update on this or is everything still pretty broken still?

@FromTheWolfs There has not been an update on this from the team that I can see. That does not mean they arent making changes they need to on their end though. Sometimes updates are delayed due to the number of issues happening at the same time.
Are we able to get a detailed breakdown of what the issue is and the steps needed to resolve it in the spirit of transparency? Most everyone who will be using this platform and playing these games are going to be at least moderately computer literate or better and even where people may not understand the details of an issue they will be able to understand the general idea.
Having the issue laid out and explained makes it a great deal easier for people to have that patience. The old saying, the devil you don't know is always worse than the devil you do know, applies here as well. Being able to wrap our heads around what sort of hurdles need to be addressed enables communication, fosters trust, and aleviates frustration.
I don't think posts demanding "fixes now" are realistic or appropriate but a breakdown of the above I do believe is a fair compromise.

@Kincaid_1978 A breakdown of the specifics is not something we can provide I am afraid because a lot of the causes are internal, not external. As for steps needed to be taken on the player's end to "fix it", there are currently no steps that need to be taken as the games team is resolving this on their end and not on the player's end. I understand waiting around is never fun, but until they post an update on what is or has happened, we have to wait for that resolution to happen from the team.
I wasn't referring to steps on the player's end - you have made it clear that internal teams need to do the work on this one. Instead I was asking for a breakdown of what those teams are doing and what sort of issues they have identified. Again, it's just about fostering transparency and enabling people to be a little less frustrated while we wait.

As of now, there are no steps that the player can or needs to perform on their end as there is not a way for the player themselves to fix the issue. This issue is being fixed on the games team side.
Can we provide a detailed list of what the actual issue is on the backend? No because that would involve internal detailed information being sent to the public that we don't have the approval to do from that specific games team.

We have had some players perform the following steps here which have helped. what I suggest is to perform a full uninstall, and reinstall. Before you launch the game, perform the steps on the link and then try to launch it again. It may not fix all issues with the launching and content but has helped.
Hi, getting same error on startup saying "the problem is on your side... etc." follwing the suggestion to run ea app as admin does not work. even setting all dependend .exe's to run as admin has no effect. waitng for a fix from developers patiently 🙂
would be so nice to play this once again.

@smumu2 Did you also change the compatibility in the settings of the exe that was also suggested?
So still a whole another week has gone by and nothing from EA on updates about how or when this will be fixed. I think I am in the same boat as most people and becoming absolutely disgusted with the service that us paying customers are receiving for something that should work on their platform.
I can personally vouch that my EA app's executable is set to run as administrator on startup and when trying to do the fresh reinstall, I would still get errors but I just got it to go through and now get the error attached. I am not sure what else to try other than wait for a possible update from you since the error specifically states its on EA's end as you have mentioned.
@EA_Shepard yeah. i did this from the post, that u linked in this Thread. "EDIT: So if anyone else is like me, and nothing was working. I tried this. Right click EA App>Click properties>Click compatibility tab (If that tab doesn't exist, the internet should have a tutorial somewhere, I forgot how to do it myself)>Click the check box next to "run in administrator mode""
+ a reinstall, that went through smoothly. Of both, game and EA App. Still no luck.
update. i have to mention. i played anthem through ea Play and now have access to ea play via subscription to xbox game pass. perhaps, thats why anthem is not properly recognized by the ea app.
just fyi, have the same problem, but the game worked 2 days ago miraculously then broke again
edit: i am an owner of legion of dawn, the app sees it since there's a check mark- @EA_Shepard As there still, after 4 weeks, are no solution for launching game issue, I decided to move on and simply deleted the game and EA app. Will not use EA products for visible future. Good luck!
@EA_Shepard So I am guessing that since 4 weeks have passed have it is safe to assume that this problem is not actually being worked on and will not be fixed?

Hey Everyone,
I took a look at this again to see if there was an update. As of now, the issue is still on their log but unfortunately, they are working on other issues that have taken priority. With the number of fixes that have worked and the steps they have advised, we cannot say when this issue itself will be resolved.
@EA_Shepard I do believe that the majority of us that are posting on this forum are saying that the fixes that EA are advising do not work. To that end the problem is not on our end and to keep saying basically "turn it on and off again" is terribly insulting. I believe that if we paid for a game we should be able to play it and it should be a priority.
EA Rep (6/20/2023, 9:34:37 AM): Thank you for sharing the complete information, In this case I would like to provide you some information that our players are unable to play anthem because as this game is now the sunset game means The game doesn't support the EA app at all because developers stopped the support so playing Anthem on EA app is impossible.
The Origin App workaround is no longer working

@FromTheWolfs We are not asking players to "turn it on and off again" and it has been stated that the team does know what the issue is and is not on the player's end. There are some instances where it is account-related and others not. As per the last update that was given -

Simple solution: Give us Origin back, and delay the EA App further, until every bit of basic functionality is in place. - Refer to my angry post about the other issues. The problem lies within the App, not recognizing some files that Origin used to launch certain games. Simply put, it tries to execute code that was meant for Origin.

@THE_Crazy_Hyena I wish it were that easy. The bottom line is that Origin will not be coming back so that sadly is not a solution any longer. @EA_Shepard Do you have any comment on this previous reply? This is quite a direct response stating that Anthem is bottom-line never going to function. I am placing faith in your information and keeping my patience with me as I go but it seems to contradict your information heavily.
