Is Sims 4 ever going to get cars?

I doubt that there will be working cars as there are no Workplace you can drive to or anywhere else. Only option is to travel.

Yes, we all wish sims 4 was waaaay better than Sims 3.... in saying that no EA most probably will not include cars. 

Why sell one high priced item when they can drip feed tat over the next,  ummm 5 years!?! 

Also, the roads/pavements don't work. 🤭 Y'see there this weird pathing issue.  For instance,  in order for a simmie to cross the road, to a set point, they somehow, magically and quite bizarrely, cant go from Point A to Point B. 

No!!  They take the tourist option!  Meandering thru neighbours gardens, climbing hills and dales in order to arrive and set point right opposite them! 

Properly LMAO at that one!!!

If EA, yeah EA!!! There is NO MAXIS!!!,  were super savvy they would sell you a hunk o junk, together with the mechanic tools to allow your sims build their own souped up car.

But of course that's the long winding road to profit.  No EA go for the Readers Digest option, gather "ready-mades" made and reskin it.

The fact that they included garage doors may be a hint toward them including cars at a later date, and I'm sure they'd work the same way they did in sims 2, ie disappearing off lot much like the sims do when they disappear to work. It would be nice to have the sims work on a car like they did in TS2 and teach their teens to drive...but I'm not sure they will. They might. As I said, the garage doors seems to suggest they might introduce them later. I hope so. 

@TS1299, and @melissalungu, yes it is possible, but I tend to agree with @jpkarlsen that they probably won't do it since there isn't a real reason to other than ornamental with the TS4 world the way it is. ☹️  If they were to add cars, it would take a lot of work since (like TS1299 stated) there are some neighborhoods that don't have any roads! 🤭  Yes they could go through all that work, but for it to be really worth it cars would have to be for more than looks . Most businesses need to be practical.  It was different with TS2 in that the neighborhoods all had roads and either the cars came with the Base Game, or they came shortly after.  Cars were best suited to the open world of TS3, but that isn't going to happen in TS4! 😉  

That stated, I think our best hope  is that they might make cars for TS5, if they are going to make a TS5! 😇  But they could always surprise us sooner! 🤨

did you know Sims actually started in the 80s. It didn't go well for them, so the come back was in 2000. I still have my Sims 1, 2, and 3 games in the package. LOL

 I still have my original yes! It was so much fun I own all the Sims I absolutely love them the whole point of me playing it so that I can have any immerse myself into a world where everything can be just the way I like doesn't feel right not to have cars even if they're not really drivable but they can own them work on them and park them in the garage give them some mundane chore to do with the car and it can be just like one of those fake cars that ride up and down the street it's just they hop in they can set the station and pull off to the end of the block like in Sims 2 and then pull up in front of wherever they are inside of the car and get out I don't think that should be such a hard task to do seeing as though they have found a way to add weather in other items to the game the car is just a rabbit hole that's all I'm asking for is a rabbit hole that completes the life of my sim! Sims 2 is still the best game they have ever come out with and if I still had a computer that can play it I would be playing that status Sims 4

The garage doors are not usable, they're on the as "murals" only.

@lynnvalero, I agree that The Sims 2 was the best of them all! ❤️  While all four Sims versions have great aspects to them, TS2 had the most phenomenal gameplay!  I got very little sleep playing that game 🥳 (and I love to sleep! 😪😃 )   

And if they were to add cars to TS4, I think you are right in that they would have to be a rabbit hole like the cars in TS2.🙂  The only problem with that is people who love TS3 will complain that that they had to wait so long to get cars in TS4 and then when they get them they are upset that they are rabbit holes and not real cars like in TS3! 🤒 

But I wouldn't mind cars that were rabbit holes. 😎 I think that would be a good compromise.  😇  (And I also liked being able to restore an old beat up car and then use it or sell it!)
