Re: When will creative content be able to be put into Sims 4 on PS4?!

@Ayeitzjay_11, Nobody knows since this isn't just a decision of one company, but a decision of 3 companies: Sony(PS4), Microsoft (Xbox), and EA (The Sims 4).🤨  It is my understanding that Sony is holding things back on this ☹️ and that Microsoft is more agreeable.  Hopefully that will change! 🤞

But a note of warning:  Mods and Custom Content (CC) aren't' always fun and games.  😮  Every time the EA updates the game, there is a chance that Mods or CC will become outdated, in which case the Mods/CC creators have to update their items as well, and players that use these items have to stay on top of all their Mods/CC and get the most recent versions.  If their game is causing problems after an update , then they will have to check their game without their Mods/CC to see if that is causing the problem.  This is done on a PC by doing the following:

1) Move the Mods Folder to your desktop

2) Delete localthumbcache.package file in the game folder.

3) Fix you game in Origin by logging in and go to Library, then right-click on The Sims 4 and choose the "Repair Game" option from the list.  Wait until Origin finishes repairing all your packs and not just the base game.

4) Now, when you turn on your game again, it will create a new mods folder that will be empty.  Check to see if your game is now working without mods/CC.

5) Now you can try adding back items from your Mods folder one at a time checking your game each time to see which item is causing your game to not work properly.  If you have a lot of items, you can try the 50/50 Method.

I don't know how this would be done on a console, but this just gives you an idea of the amount of upkeep you would have to do in order to be able to use CC or Mods. 🤨 I used to use them in TS2 and TS3, but had many problems with them and had to stop using them in TS3, and have never used them in TS4.  I am too lazy for that amount of maintenance! 😃

But if this is something you are willing to do, then Mods or CC can be fun! 🙂

Also, the most recent Maxis Monthly has revealed that console users will be getting the Gallery, so  both Sony and Microsoft agreed to that finally, then perhaps they might agree to CC being on the console version! 🤔 🤞

Happy Simming! 🥳

I think this is something many people would be willing to do. I also think that if we can transfer our CC/Mod files from PC to PS4 via USB, the whole process of that, would be just the same for the most part. Once the mod folder is removed from the EA Folder, and you start up the game, the mods are removed and the folder is replaced with an empty Mods folder. You could fix and update your files by transfering them back to the PC, and then doing just as you would while playing on a PC. You can reset data & caches on PS4 aswell as reinstall your game if you absolutely must, to fix any potential persisting errors.

It seems definitely possible. I just really hope PlayStation, EA, and Sims Creators can bring this all together, aswell as Microsoft if necessary.

The unfortunate results when corporations are hung up on being divided. Best examples are in consoles.

Sorry this is no help, but i desperately agree with this sentiment.
