Re: Cannot Place Roof Solar Panel

There are two solar panels in the game. Are you using the roof deco one? 

I can place them fine:

I also have the same problem as the 2 users above described. 

The "Solar Panel - Roof" cant be placed on a roof except its a flat one.

The "Solar Panel - Ground" can be placed via the bb.moveobjects on cheat but since it wont snap to the roof it just glitches into it. 

It doesn't matter what kind of roof, no matter what lot or save its always the same. 

I also tried repairing the game which didn't help at all.

My CC and Mods are currently disabled.

It says i still have CC on the lot i played with but im sure i didnt put any cc on it.

Do you mean the game folder or just the folder with the CC, Saves, tray files etc.?

I also noticed that even if i download a lot with the solar panels on the roof it just deletes them.

After starting a clean game with a new Sims Folder the Bug seems to be fixed, I can place the Solar Panels on the roof.

Great! I could also place panels in your save so it must be something Mod related. 

You should be fine with that save but I would move out the Mods folder, trash the localthumbcache.package file and check your Mods are up to date with the creators. Do you have any idea which Mod you think may be causing this? Would be interesting to know. You could try the 50/50 method to narrow it down.

I finally found the mod that atleast for me causes this problem. (I definitely have too much CC)

The mod is WEE - Working Elevators Everywhere by LittleMsSam on tumblr

Are you 100% certain that it is that mod in particular as I have that mod as well.

If I delete the said mod will allow me to utilise the solar panels on the hipped roof.

Same problem, don't have that elevator mod. Roof solar panel can't intersect with roofs.

Is it the other elevator mod called [Updated! Teleporter and Elevators for community and residential lots]

by K9DB on ModTheSims? The elevator limit increase file [WeeAlbert_ElevatorLimitIncrease.package] prevents you from placing solar panels on rooftops. When I removed the mod, the solar panels can be placed on the roof again. (Well, it worked for me at least)

Just a heads up for people still having this problem. I didn't have the elevator mod, but the Mannequin Uncapper mod by LemonyLin is outdated with the current patch and will also cause this to happen.
