Re: Played sim will not change to appropriate clothing

@jessallie It's possible that a mod that would not seem to have anything to do with changing clothes can cause unintended effects in other parts of the game. The only way to know for sure is to try a no-mod/no-CC test save to see if this is still happening with no mods at all. Can you temporarily remove all mods, delete the localthumbecache.package file from your Sims 4 folder, and then test on a fresh New Game? If it works fine with no mods you might want to double-check that the mods you are using have been verified to be compatible with the latest game patch and replace them with updated versions where necessary. Just make sure not to load any of your old saves while the mods are out. If you load an old save and re-save while the mods are out it might cause problems with that save. A fresh New Game will work fine for testing and when you are done testing you can exit without saving if you want. Good luck, I hope this helps :D

P.S. Here's a link to a mod tracker site I like to use to verify that my mods are current. Just scroll down and click on "Main Tracker/ A - Z" and then find your mods on the list. This will show you the last time a mod has been updated, its current status, and a link to find an update if required:

@RandomBuzziness Yes, I've been actively using that mod tracker, I guess I will have to bite the bullet and remove all the mods. Strangely though this has only been happening recently (and everything was working fine) and I removed all of my most recent mod downloads, so I thought perhaps it was a bug with the very latest patch. I guess not, though.

@jessallie I just pulled all of my mods out to do some other testing plus I wanted to purchase the Vampires pack and I try to avoid installing any game patches or new content while I have all of those mods in. Maybe I'm just being overly cautious with all of that but I'd rather be safe than sorry. I just started a new save to check out all of the new goodies from the Vampire pack and my Sim does not seem to have any issues with changing her clothes to the appropriate outfits. I'll keep testing though :D

I think I'm having a problem with LIttle Ms Sam's Automatic Thermostat interfering with something.  Still doing testing.

I took all my mods out (even cc) except for MCCC and UI cheat extension and I am still having a problem with my played sim not changing into winterwear when he leaves the house in the winter.  It was so long ago that I didn't have mods in my game and I don't remember if they automatically change to everyday out of the shower when the EA thermostat is on because that's what mine does.  Then he continues to stay in his everyday when he goes out in the snow or to other venues in the winter.  I have no problem with this when just UI cheat extension in my game, but as soon as I put back MCCC the clothes change problem was happening again.  I don't see anyone else complaining about this and MCCC.  I had already tried starting 2 new games and it happened both times.

@jessallie I did some testing with the Auto Thermostat mod and I could not see that it had any effect on how my Sims autonomously changed their outfits. Everything seemed to be working the same with the mod in and with it out.

As far as I know it is normal for Sims to change to everyday outfits when they finish showering, unless they are at a gym or spa where they will switch to wearing a towel instead of their everyday outfit. I use several of the MCCC modules and I don't have that problem in my game where my Sim will not switch to cold weather outfits when they go outside in cold/freezing weather. It could be that you are using a module that I do not have in my game or maybe there is something in your settings that is different than mine. I do not use the UI extension mod but as far as I know it does not conflict with MCCC. I will look in my MCCC settings to see if there is anything in there that might cause this to happen.
