Re: Hidden Mess!

@KushKylie, the only thing I can think of is if one of your Sims is Neat, and there are enough dirty items around the house, you can have them get energized (drink coffee, take a brisk shower, etc.) and then click on them when they are already selected at the active Sims and there should be an option for a "Cleaning Frenzy!". 🤨  they will usually clean anything that they can physically get to. :eahigh_file:  However, sometimes something is stuck behind something else. (I often get plates stuck behind the fridge or in the next room when I think I'm dragging them into the fridge to be saved for later!)  So I would check behind/around the fridge, sinks, and trash bins to see if you accidentally put a plate there.  Also look on the opposite wall behind the fridge (etc.) because I've also found plates in the next room behind the fridge or even outside behind the fridge. 😃)  Also, check all your Sims' Personal Inventories because sometimes they put dirty dishes or half eaten food in their inventories! 🤒😃

Aside from that, I don't know of any way to find missing dirty dishes.  There could be a Mod that exists for this, but you would have to check around (that is, if you don't mind the hassle that comes from playing with Mods. 😉)

Best of luck!

Thanks @PugLove888 , I was wondering how to get the cleaning frenzy option. I often find dirty dishes in a locked room, so I’ll lift everything up and see what I can find hiding in impossible places!

@KushKylie, yes, the Cleaning Frenzy! interaction is only available on Neat Sims, and only if they are energized.  And you have to have them selected an then click on them and you should find the option!  Sometimes Sims will also put a white bowl or plate on a white desk behind the computer, which is hard to see.   But most of the time (at least with me) I find that what I thought I put in the trash, sink, or fridge is really on the counter in the corner or in the next room/outside!🤭 😳  It is easy to do if you are in a hurry or not careful!

If you find anything, tell me where you find it!  I'm curious! 🤔😃

@PugLove888  I can’t find it! I got my neat guy energised, started a cleaning frenzy, and all he did was workout on the floor

i used a vampire to command someone to clean, and they went to dance.

I demolished the entire place in build mode, and nothing went into my inventory.

I shifted everything around, and found nothing dirty hiding behind anything.

I dont know what to do!

@KushKylie, I'm so sorry you are having such a difficult time finding the source of this mess!  ☹️😞

Did you check all the Sims' inventories for dirty or half-eaten plates of food?🤔

The only other thing I can think of is to replace their house with a copy of the same house if you have one in the your Gallery Library (keeping any special items in their personal inventories or the family inventory for bigger items). I would advise using money cheats to reimburse your Sims for any loss of money or items if that occurs. 😉 Or you can move them to a new house altogether.  I realize this isn't ideal, but unfortunately it is the only thing I can think of for now. ☹️

I will ask some others who might know of a workaround or solution, but I'll have to get back to you on that ...

@KushKylie, I talked to another person and they have once had this problem where the smell was from one of the little live aliens that are in the fishtanks that you can get by either exploring space in the rocket ship, or working at the laboratory if you have Get to Work.  Apparently they can put out little puffs of "smoke" that is smelly and Sims nearby can act as if they are smelling a bad smell.  So if you have any of those, at least the live ones, that could be the culprit!

Also, is there a chance you could have built or placed your house on a trash plant?  The same person who told me about the little alien, also had once built a house on a trashplant that was spawning ,and had to save her house to her Library, and then get rid of the floor and delete the trash plant.🤨😃

@PugLove888  I’ve checked all their inventories.

They live in the penthouse, so I don’t have an original copy. I can save one from another save and replace my version with a fresh one. Definitely not ideal, but this is making me as uncomfortable as it makes them! Lol

The moodlet only appears in the upstairs living room section of the penthouse, and I’ve lifted, sold, and destroyed everything there several times (using “undo” to fix it), and haven’t even found a pile of dust.

They had a fire recently, actually, so I’ll double check the floor again, but it looks like I’m going to have to replace their fancy city-Vampire Penthouse, or at least, the top half  😞

I’ll leave it for the end of the day in case anyone comes up with an easier idea.

I have a few weird fish (vampire fish? Or bat fish? I forget... koi, and an angelfish) in the fish tank.

No trash plants, as the penthouse doesn’t have any “ground/earth”.

@burin077  I don’t have parenthood. I’ve turned the place upside down, and haven’t found any hidden “treasures”.

Would the Mosquito plant give off a dirty vibe? I moved the garlic plant outside, so Vlad isn’t bothered by that anymore.

The trash moodlet disappears as soon as they leave the living area, so it’s not a frozen moodlet.

At this point it just seems like there's something overall wrong with the room itself; only thing I can think of at this time would be to delete/re-create the room.

Make sure when you recreate the room, that walking into the room doesn't still trigger the Uncomfortable Moodlet; if it does, I don't really know how else to help at this point.

@KushKylie, thanks for checking your Sims' inventories!🙂  Also, since there was a fire, there might still be a piece of burnt floor that is hidden by something else. 🤨 Depending on the color of the floor, it might not be noticeable to you,  (It could also be a burnt shelf or curtain, etc. that you normally don't see with the walls down or partially down. 🤔  There also might be a little bit of hidden ash stuck somewhere, but more likely it is a charred spot of flooring, etc. 😉

I did not even think of that @PugLove888 ; that's a good point.

Burned spots can be a factor if a fire had ever started.

@burin077, yes, and some floor colors/patterns hide burnt spots better than others.😃  But I'm shocked at how often the burnt spot was hidden by a counter, stove, dryer, etc.! 🤨 No matter how often you direct them to clean it, its impossible for them to reach until you move whatever is over the burnt spot in Build/Buy Mode.  I don't know if this is @KushKylie 's problem since they said they dismantled the room, but it is worth a try! 😉
