@frenchsoymilk  If you purchase the pack through Origin, you won't receive a code, the pack will be automatically added to your account.  So there's no way to buy it yourself and give it to your friend later.

If you buy a product key from an authorized third-party seller, or a sealed box with a code inside, then that should last until your friend uses it.  A legitimate key, not one from a key seller but from an authorized vendor, should be valid until registered.  However, those probably aren't on sale right now, and Amazon at least tries to tie your purchase to your Origin account rather than providing a key.

There's no guarantee the trend will continue, but the last two years, Sims 4 packs have been on sale during the holiday season as well, for the same prices seen around Black Friday.  So unless this year is different, you may be able to get the same discount then that you're seeing now.  There's always a chance EA decides to do things differently though.
