I absolutely agree and it's such a shame because the careers are my favourites. It's been said before so I hope it happens at some point.
The medical career has been one of the most complained about careers in the game I think. It is so stressful, there just aren't enough hours in the day to accomplish anything and the other staff members do absolutely nothing except get in the way. I can't tell you how many times my Sim has been blocked in a cubicle because an orderly is in the way and won't move. You also don't see the same medical staff having to admit patients, fix machines, do housecalls (which crash) and pick up trash. It's all done by different staff. I actually first used the feature as I have a terrible medical phobia lol and I can't say I found it in any way cathartic!
The police career can be frustrating and I wish I could edit the police station, as a builder that annoys me. I don't know if it's possible with mods but on console it won't let me edit it at all. I just want to upgrade the whole thing because that's what I love to do.
I do love the science career though and I've refurbished the lab and incorporated robotics, engineering and droids/servos plus the Strangerville mystery and cowplants.
I use retail the most and use the retail lots as second or third homes as well. It's one of my favourite parts of the game. I don't play the active lots though, I return to them with other Sims as customers. It's so handy for my Sims that aren't creators, gardeners or collectors. Selling art, flowers and collectables plus rare items is what they are used for. Everytime I build a new lot, I send my new Sim shopping to buy paintings and collectables for their new home.
But honestly it needs an overhaul and a massive bug fix. I use it so much but have had to learn to work with its flaws over the years.
