Re: Madden 24 EA App stuck on "Preparing"

Hey Everyone.

Wanted to follow up on those who are not able to download the game due to the game being stuck in a "preparing" state. If you are still having an issue with the download itself being in this stuck state, please provide the following info below.

Game Purchases

Log into profile.ea.com to make sure there are no pending transactions.
Under Order History, check and see if there are any canceled, pending, or processing transaction IDs

EA Play Subscription

If you are trying to download the trial on PC, or console, Please make sure that you have an active EA Play subscription linked to the console/PC and that your EA account is properly linked to the correct console account. 

If you are having a separate issue with the game, I.E. Not launching, missing content, etc, please check the main threads Here and post your info on one of the threads you see.

    @Lonewolff55 Appreciate it. Can you pause the download, go into the settings, change the download speed to match 20MBs and then run the app recovery? I want to see if it kicks the download into action. 

  • this sucks because I took time off work to try this game out to see iif it improved from 23 because I had a lot of issues with everyone else. I haven't even bought the full game just the ea play to try and it's already costed me more than I can get back in terms of monetary loss. 2 days of pay out the window for something with all the hype and yet still all the issues :/

    @Lonewolff55 We have escalated it up to the team as there are a few other threads with players running into the same thing so they are taking a look.

  • when I got in touch with EA chat last night, asking for a copy of the game as compensation they said I was the first person who had reported this issue, which makes no sense since plenty others are having this same issue and others.

  • I have an issue where my download won't go past preparing. I have followed the steps you listed, and they don't work. Please help

    Same here. Let me guess, still working on the issue. That's what 6 different "EA Help" employees said to me.

  • This sucks.  It's been days, and I still can't download it. I have lost the whole pre-play experience. Someone needs to fix this.

    @EA_Shepard I'm stuck in the same spot and I'm not able to download the game it errors out on Processing and nothing happens beyond that. Tried uninstalling EA app and reinstalling. Adjusted UAC and nothing changes.
