Missing upgrade system for the Mythic Alternator "Skippy"

I now own a skin that is—quite literally—basic. Had I been warned, I would have been willing to pay for Etoxic to upgrade it, but there was no warning whatsoever. I paid money just to have a terrible experience.

During the Cyberpunk event, I purchased the Mythic "Skippy" skin for the Alternator. At the time, I didn't have enough Etoxic to unlock the skin's recolor. Now that I've earned enough Etoxic, I went to the store but can no longer find the Alternator "Skippy" skin. What happened? Is this a bug or a feature?

Hello Apex Legends Team,

I purchased the Skippy Alternator skin during the Cyberpunk event. When I made the purchase, I believed I would still be able to access and complete the weapon’s upgrade options after the event had ended.

However, after the event ended, I discovered that I can no longer upgrade the skin I paid for. This was very disappointing, especially because the upgrade restriction was not clear to me at the time of purchase.

Because I was not aware of this limitation, I was only able to complete one upgrade using the Exotic Shards available during the event. I planned to receive my next paycheck and complete the remaining upgrades then. As a result, I ended up spending approximately $180 on a weapon skin with very limited effects, while being unable to access its remaining upgrades afterward.

I understand that events are time-limited, but permanently removing the ability to upgrade a cosmetic item that players have already purchased creates a frustrating experience. This also seems to be a recurring issue with collaboration events, where players lose access to upgrades or related content once the event ends.

I believe upgrades for event-purchased items should remain available after the event, or this limitation should be communicated much more clearly before purchase.

Please reconsider enabling upgrade access for players who own the Skippy Alternator skin, and consider addressing this issue for future collaboration events as well.

I'm very upset and disappointed. The event is expensive, and I thought I could gradually upgrade the heirloom weapon. It's not fair that after making such a large investment, I have to make another investment of shards to get the upgrade items for the Mythic weapon. I request that you please allow me to upgrade the weapon, acquire the bomb skins, and the Skippy takedown animation. Those of us who bought the heirloom made a significant investment. It's not right that you're doing this, forcing us to buy even more items for a limited time.

Please allow upgrades for Skippy's Mythic weapon for those of us who purchased it. The events are expensive, and they also pressure me to buy fragments to get all the upgrades in a short time.

For real that’s crazy, why would they only offer the color variants to be limited time availability? That just screams lazy programming. They just add store and removed it entirely from the game code while just leaving the weapon skin as an option in your locker. After about the third collab, they need to start adding it to the store in general so people can at least see what to look forward to for a re run. I actually like the LTM modes that came with them, there’s no reason to perma lock them behind a one off license. It was never advertised to be limited time unlock availability once you have it like every other mythic gun in the game.

You definitely are not alone in wanting a refund or the ability to upgrade it. 

I never would have bought this crap either if I was aware in the slightest bit that the recolours go away..

But thats electronic arts inc. and respawn entertainment for ya. They're greedy clowns. They dont give a hoot about the players. 

Where is it ever stated that the upgrades are also tied to the event? After buying the item I should be able to upgrade it if I had known I wouldnt be able to upgrade it over time I wouldnt have even bought this stupid skin, I either want my money back or the ability to upgrade it.

I second this, I bought it last minute and didnt have the Exotic shards and since the item was IN THE MYTHIC SHOP DISPLAYING NEXT TO ALL OTHER MYTHIC GUNS that I would be able to wait until next battlepass came out and buy it with the exotic shards then but to my surprise today it has completely vanished from the mythic tab and replaced with a pathfinder version and now were unable to upgrade it. I UNDERSTAND that the item is exclusive to the event and that is why I BOUGHT it while it was still available to purchase but nowhere did it state that the upgrades were also exclusive to the event. I want a refund or the ability to purchase the upgrades. FIX IT.
