Doesn't sound like something that really belongs in a BR. And yes, scarce loot seems unappealing considering the amount of complaints with the poor loot pool to begin with.
I also don't believe most will even play that mode the way it is meant to play.
Regarding the ideas I heard about this so-called 'Hardcore Mode' fewer weapons in the general loot pool was one of the ideas floated (sounds great) so why don't they just go the whole hog & have a Melee Mode LTM .Like others have mentioned I wouldn't be interested in this mode either tbh.
A melee-only mode would get stale very quickly, unless they were planning on adding a bunch of melee weapons to pick up with different abilities (longer reach but longer wind up, double jump but close range, fast but low damage, etc.)
This would probably never happen, though, because it strays pretty far from Apex's core gameplay, which revolves around guns.
