@GreenxxFire He needs to be able to deploy the traps faster. Deploying them in the middle of most fights is a death sentence.His teammates also should not be negatively impacted by his own gas. I hate playing with caustics, I can’t tell you how many times I have died because I was slowed and blinded by the gas from my teams caustic. They throw down traps I won’t come help them. I’ll hang around the edge of the gas but that is it.Perhaps a slight healing buff for caustic when he is inside of his own gas. That would help compensate for his huge hit box.

Faster activation would be good. Not slowing your teammates, while keeping the blinding effect, would also be good.

Agreed, i'd like to play barrel boy more, very useful skills, but take so long to use.His ultimate nade also takes too long to draw and deploy, and also gives a audible warning to enemies when drawn, so it'll be hard to get anyone with it who is alerted to your presence.You can only reliably ult on people if you're third partying.

@DarthValtrex I speak about it in the sense that we are in an open area and you (Caustic) begin to toss out gas that will deploy and go off faster than it does now, causing it to become more so like a nade, since it "explodes" pretty much on contact.The way you come at it, it's the straight forward plan on how to counter a Caustic currently, since their traps are already set.The increase in speed allows them to become more than sitting traps and more so like a Claymore in COD, where you can hold on to one all game and the moment you see an enemy, "BOOM" dead, or in this case, slowed, blind and then dead because they're easier to hit.@DarthVaapar ah yes, of course, personally I want it be able to stick anywhere just to see how it affects my flow with him and to see if it could be used/abused in a negative way, if not, it could stay and I could have my own fun by handing them on ceilings vs ground like a true bat in his cave!

@GreenxxFire agree on that note, but he should get a nerf too, his gas shouldn't destroy fences, I don't know if that makes sense or not, wattson's abilities just went from 100 to 0 real quick. Especially in small buildings.

@DarthValtrex A friend of mine suggested an option of losing one slot in your backpack for a Gas Mask when playing with Caustic

@Wingmannedbro The only way I’ve found to effectively gwt people into his nade is to toss it in front of where they are running or if they are in a building. Nothing like them panic running into a wall.

I get the feeling players want him to be able to be used in the middle of a gun fight, but I don't see Caustic being that legend, of course with some skill you can utilize him in an aggressive way but again, I like how the big boi is a trapper who waits for their target to fall into his traps before springing on them to pounce.
Giving him the ability to handle himself in an open aggressive style defeats his purpose and than will bring about the issue of everyone hating him and wanting him to be nerf due to the fact that he basically gets free nades every cooldown cycle.
Do we really want a Caustic tossing gas at us and having it blow in our face before we get a chance to move away?? Are those the gun fights you want?
Caustics my main so I know how easily his gas can bring down a team that doesn't have enough time to react to it before they are blinded, slowed and gunned down.

@iBlockHead I agree he’s a defensive player. I think issue with that, is that this is not really a defensive game. The game requires to much movement and it’s rare to be in a situation in which defensive camping is advantageous. You need Capital or Skyhook and the ring to be continually closing on your squad. Yet even still you’re going to have to loot those areas and Caustic is at a huge disadvantage while looting.

So I could see making him slightly more competitive outside of that. Caustic paired with a wattson in a building in the final 2 rings is difficult to beat. The interceptor takes nading them off the table. The gas combined with fences makes rushing impossible. But the hard part is getting there with caustic. When you do, ya it’s awesome and OP.

Wattson fairs decently outside of camping because her small hit box.
