@DarthValtrex agreed, and that's the cost of having an ability that deals damage and slows/blinds enemies.
If you want a good set up and want to be prepared, you gotta bring mobility into the team (Wraith/Pathfinder/Octane) in order to get him from x building to y with minimal effort, and once he's in the final few rings, it's all about thinking of where to place a canister in order to block/obscure the enemies path to direct them to someplace more in your teams favor (rings edge/corner) whatever the case.
He should be more competitive and I myself would love to see him be used more by top teams, but having a faster deploy speed wouldn't be the thing to do I feel.
Maybe allowing it to spread both horizontal and vertical (globe like AOE) vs only horizontal. Also allowing it to stick on whatever it's being tossed at would make him more viable and still keep him as a defensive legend that can be used in the midst of combat.
Just feel like the faster deploy speed would breed players that only use him because he can spam them in the middle of combat which of course spells death for the enemy but that'll just be unfair as they didn't get a chance to move away.

@iBlockHead I don’t think spamming the canisters would be an issue. He can only carry what 3-4? They take a bit to recharge. When ever I run into a camped Caustic team I shoot the traps down or set them off. He runs out of gas bags eventually, as we nade what ever building they are in. Some times I intentionally set them off to blind/slow the caustics teammates.
So even if they increase the speed at which traps can be tossed, the caustic player still needs to be some what strategic with their use.
Toss in that the gas does not do a ton of damage.
I think caustic can be one of the more fun legends to mess around with. I love trapping people and gassing them to death.. he’s just to weak for the open range fights. Unless you really out match your opponents skill, you’re dead.

- 6 years ago@DarthValtrex I speak about it in the sense that we are in an open area and you (Caustic) begin to toss out gas that will deploy and go off faster than it does now, causing it to become more so like a nade, since it "explodes" pretty much on contact.
The way you come at it, it's the straight forward plan on how to counter a Caustic currently, since their traps are already set.
The increase in speed allows them to become more than sitting traps and more so like a Claymore in COD, where you can hold on to one all game and the moment you see an enemy, "BOOM" dead, or in this case, slowed, blind and then dead because they're easier to hit.
@DarthVaapar ah yes, of course, personally I want it be able to stick anywhere just to see how it affects my flow with him and to see if it could be used/abused in a negative way, if not, it could stay and I could have my own fun by handing them on ceilings vs ground like a true bat in his cave!
