I’m sure it’s been said already but cmon , it’s the 2 year anniversary and the thanks for sticking with the game through all the terrible terrible bugs and slow fixes , * communication from the devs to the players and people spending loads of money on it - is a load of awful reskins and a substandard ltm . I know straight away loads of people will read this with the attitude of “don’t but then then lol it’s a free game don’t like it don’t get the stuff” - but my answer to that would be that actually I want there to be good stuff I’m willing to pay for !Played since day 1 of release and stayed with it the whole time , but really am dissapointed with the lack of effort gone into this event . I mean I’m not an artist , but I’d be happy to give some pointers if you’ve run out of ideas for new skins lol. Or better yet, get some of the amazing fan artists from the community of this game to design some?And as for the ltm ,sooo many different game modes you could play around with and that’s what you choose - removing white loot and starting with some crap . Again , I’ll make it clear that I love this game , think it’s the best FPS to come out in many years and I always try give it the benefit of the doubt but it’s just things like this where you think eh it’s jus a quick buck over effort . @MassiveVernon I know some that love these reskins but I agree with you that I'm not very impressed. The rewards for playing through the even points are excellent.The mode tho I am happy with. The loot is phenomenal.As for the people that keep saying they should have given us shards. Get real. 🤣

@Tad844 The concept is fine, I'm sure most would welcome it long term.All the bs instability that comes with it isn't so great lol. Apex content has basically become a running joke with how problematic it is upon implementation.

@MandatoryIDtag Apex is always unstable for me. I have packet loss and ping spikes everyday since s7. Those events/takeovers just break it even more, yes.

Here's a free 500 dollar cosmetic because we're trying to prove that we care. Thank you for sticking with us despite how messy the game is." Of course, the way Respawn expresses this is, "Hey 2 event packs, take it or leave it." In addition, the problem lies in how we view money, as well as the fact that it's a social construct backed by physical mediums. We can say hey, a quarter is worth 25 cents, because its value is backed by a physical medium like gold. But when you buy Apex Coins, what's its physical medium? What makes 1050 Apex Coins worth 10 dollars? It has no physical backing, it has no real value, the only reason it's "worth" 10 dollars is because the developers arbitrarily priced it that way. It's a currency exchange from dollars to Apex Coins, or Euros to Coins, etc. etc. The difference is, Euros, Dollars, Rubles, etc. etc. all have physical mediums to back up their proposed value. That's why you can exchange dollars to euros to rubles and not lose money. Apex Coins do not. Go into Subway and tell them you'll pay for the sub you order with Apex Coins. See how that works out. Thus that lack of physical backing extends to heirlooms. If you said now, "Hey we're giving out free Heirlooms!" the corporate shill would say, "Hey wait a minute, every time you give out an heirloom we lose 500 dollars!" But in reality, that isn't true. It's a virtual item with no physical medium to back its value, which can freely be distributed at a moments notice. There is literally nothing stopping Respawn from giving everyone 150 Heirloom shards outside of some arbitrarily priced lock. If I E-Mail you my own 3-D Modeled Heirloom, do I lose 500 dollars? No! Because again it's a virtual item with no real physical backing / medium, that's arbitrarily priced and valued.

Collection event is a bit of a middle finger to the players

@MassiveVernonI personally like this takeover event. You start with a decent loadout, ready to defend or heal yourself. All the white loot is gone which is amazing. They should implement this in the base game if you ask me, it would be so much better and it would lessen the RNG. Aside from that you get 10 normal packs and 2 collection packs just by playing the game. This is very nice and should be implemented in future collection events/takeovers. But yea, there are many bugs and server side issues, slow motion match and 300 ping matches.

@MandatoryIDtag Ever since S8 launched the Steam side of Apex has been basically non-functional. The game was literally not playable yesterday for over 11 hours. You'd sit in lobby for upwards of 30 minutes for ONE match. 'Course you won't hear 'em talk about it though. "Out of sight, out of mind." is Respawn's motto.
Edit: Steam side of Apex crashed again. Been down for 10 minutes now, will see how long it stays down this time. Can't even log into game.

@MassiveVernon I was thinking the same about the skins. All red? They have better recolors regularly available in the store. lol.

I think the prize track is pretty good. The legendary Anniversary holospray is nice. Wraith trackers too.

Bangalore trackers as a log in gift is nice.

Honestly though, I'm not ok with the collection event. Doesn't say "anniversary celebration" to me (lol!!!), especially considering as you said people stuck with this game and have played it since day 1 (myself included). There had to be a better way.

Maybe give everyone 150 shards for anniversary and have the collection event give a second 150 shards? Now that would be a gift worthy of anniversary right? lol

@hayhor Yes we are very well aware Respawn and EA has no intention of giving out shards and why.

There are so many heirlooms who cares? Guaranteed a large percentage of players don't have a single heirloom, myself included. Do they think people like me are about to drop money on 2000 Apex packs or so to catch up? LOL!!!

The question becomes, what does EA and Respawn have to gain here by NOT giving shards?

If anything it would be seen as a grand gesture that would almost certainly bring people flocking back to the game.
