Not a fan of more additions to mobility-focused legends, or is there something else about her that's just not doing it for you?
The game doesn't need new legends, new skins, that just slop at this point, there are about 30 mirco glitches in the game that meed to be fixed and the maps locations have gotten worse. Why don't u fix some of these glitches from literal season ZERO instead of adding slop legends, and example of this is when u revive someone by a door it opens the door and revives them simultaneously leaving you exposed, why don't you acutally fix the micro dynamics and make apex playable again. I dont care about a new legends that can make a apple pie or some other dumb thing. You also bloated the game to an extreme extend, a few years ago you did a major game compressions, stop being lazy compress the entire game again instead of making people install 80gb.
Bang on! The Dev's seemed more focused on mobility than gun play in this "hero shooter."
The mobility has been out of control in my opinion. Of course here's more. Again, this Dev team doesn't seem to listen to well to the player base - unless of course you are the top 5%.
But I get it, new legends means new skins to sell in the cosmetic store... and that is all that matters - right?
Community ManagerI think it's a bit disingenuous to claim legends are being added purely for new cosmetics. New skins are going to happen whether it's for this legend or an existing one, but a new legend offers (in theory) additional options to shake up the meta or for people looking for a slightly different playstyle they're not quite finding with the current set.
Let's keep in mind too, the trailer isn't necessarily indicative of Axle's actual abilities, and these initial trailers tend to nod towards their in-game capabilities rather than perfectly match the gameplay. Speed lines look cool in a trailer. That doesn't mean her abilities are just more Octane-style speed boosts.
There's definitely no denying movement powercreep is a thing, to be sure. The devs commented on that in a recent AMA actually as well! It'll be interesting to see how Axle lands once people have gotten a chance to actually look at and use her abilities and how those interact with other legends.

We are also very aware of the movement powercreep and are always talking about how we could address it. The tricky part is movement is fun and we see that with our pick rates. When we do add movement abilities we always consider the conterplay, we try to use audio and VFX to help with tracking.We also agree, we don't want to just give every legend a movement ability just so they can keep up. It needs to make sense for the Legend. We need to find ways to make the non-movement legends feel like they can compete.
Ok, I'll agree, that comment was made out of frustration and isn't really accurate. I own that one.
Its the shaking up of the meta as you said, that is sometimes the true issue when the meta is being shaken in a direction many are not happy about.
Also, one of the reasons why you see such a high pick rate with mobility legends, isn't just because its fun... its that the meta has been shaken in a way that now tells players, to be viable and to have a chance to avoid being insta-wiped, you MUST use a mobility legend. When you find yourself having to use a legend you may not even want to, sorely because you must to stand a chance - paints a mighty big picture.
And the more they gravitate towards mobility every single buff to classes or new legends, you render classic and OG legends without mobility, completely useless.

Seems pretty simple here, stop using mobility as the be-all end-all to every change in the game. All I hear regarding this statement is - "How can we address movement powercreep while we keep moving forward with movement powercreep??" I mean, what? really? Make this make sense lol.
The game doesn't need more mobility legends to help Type 1 players solo clean up the map in Bot Royale, or Wildcard, or whatever mode while the rest of the players get wiped or even wonder why they are there.
This isn't going to help churn. The things that will help churn management clearly won't let you do.
