Multiple problems after the genesis update, game is unplayable (literally)

I've been having issues since the genesis update launched, i cant even be in the menu without being disconected from the server, i've contacted support multiple times and tried things such as :

-uninstaled and reinstaled the game two times on steam

-uninstaled the steam version and tried instaling via origin (still had the same problems)

-contacted my internet provider and they didnt see a single problem

-entered another online game just to see if its just apex (its just apex)

And on top of this, also started after the genesis update, the game is using inhuman ammounts of CPU and memory (memory usage peaked at 2,529,0 MB) and CPU usage was 100% when the game was *on the menu screen* before i get disconected from the server.

Also the suggestion to use the ethernet cable instead of wifi doesnt work because i play on a notebook that doesnt have the input for it.

The game was running fine until the genesis update, i dont understand what happened.

  • @Starblue05 I had the disconnect problem as well after the update. Crazy. What solved it for me was to clear the Origin cache. You can google "how to clear Origin cache (or Steam cache if you play via Steam)"
  • @Starblue05 As for the memory leak, have you noticed if it's specifically Apex? Mine was doing that after the latest Windows update, but it was the Windows Desktop Manager. The solution for that ended up being turning off "sleep" mode since there seems to be an incompatibility with an Intel driver in the latest version. A lot of ppl are having this issue.

    @LaughingSharkoi installed origin yesterday specificaly for apex and it had the same problem as steam so i dont think the cache is the problem, ill try your second suggestion and come back to tell you the results, thanks for the suggestion! :D

    Edit: i cleaned the cache and the problems are still happening

    @LaughingSharko

    well...i tried turning off "sleep" mode and somehow the memory usage went even further beyond ( more than 2,900,0MB now )

    and yes, apex is the only game that this happens on, its frustrating since i bought the battle pass and wanted to complete it but i have no idea what i could do anymore.

  • @Starblue05 Make sure Apex has an exception in your anti-virus. Also, you may want to try right clicking and using "Run as Administrator" when you launch Apex or Origin.

    Those are the only things I can think of. I know how frustrating it is to have those connection problems constantly, so I hope you get it fixed without problems!
