So it started strong. Then it devolved (as most of these threads do) into some conspiracy theory about loot bias (rofl). I mean come on. The developers can't fix the netcode, can't fix the audio, but are capable of implementing a system that knows on the fly how much you've paid for cosmetics and then somehow randomly generates loot (AS YOU DROP AT A LOCATION OF YOUR CHOOSING) fast enough that you get trash and the people who have 4k badges around you get the best guns and armor?
It's honestly becoming an interesting inquiry about human psychology to read some of these posts. There's at least a handful of these exact posts that go up every single day. It's fascinating to watch people be completely unable to admit that they're getting beat and how quickly it devolves into some vast conspiracy theory. Oh but at the same time the super evil genius developer comes up with this conspiracy, they also can't spell their own names when it comes to regular game development issues that have been solved in tons of other FPS games (like netcode and audio).
Anyway props for starting with the real stuff and hooking me in before you got into the tin foil hat stuff. I'd recommend quitting the game immediately. You're obviously really struggling.
You mention this being an interesting study. Cognitive bias? More like logical fallacy. Personal incredulity? Burden of proof? If others have seen what I have and making posts about it just to have them shouted down, looks like I'm not the only one around here with a growing tin foil hat collection

I agree with every single point you mentioned as I experienced it my self and had the same thoughts about it, well except for the DCs when about to win, maybe because I paid more money than you 🙂
another thing that I want to add, this game feels like gambling, when they let you win 1 or two matches then stomp on you the rest of the gaming session so the initial wins were just a bone to get you attached.
it manifested itself yesterday in the best way possible.
I didn't play Apex for a while and my activity was reduced up to 80 % , when go online I play few matches then sign off , yesterday the first two matches were a blast, I was even surprised my self when, when I shoot at someone they just get destroyed and feel every shot is being registered, I was able to down two guys who were shooting at me at the same time and each one got destroyed with one weapon, shoot at the first and knock then swap weapon and shoot to knock the other, the game was smooth, no issues , teammates were ok, not perfect but I consider it balanced, no predators or crazy badge dudes anywhere so everything was cool, I was happy even when I didn't win any match but........suddenly ....everything changes and the syffering begins- 5 years ago@maximas1986 I've read your linked threads and in those timelines (Especially August) those words expressed were the same reasons that made me take a 2 season break. I promised if i was ever made to quit long enough to not complete my battle pass I'd never play again, but here I am, late season 7 like a dope sick junkie ready for more testicular impact conditioning. I only keep coming back because I need to know that it's not me that's the problem. Now I'm getting some deeper clarity.
In regards to Predators, the single big advantage most of them have is tight coordination. They move in lock step, making & listening to calls, making sure they always have high ground or they have the numbers advantage on an enemy if they've chipped away at them enough to move in for the kill. THEY NEVER ATTACK ALONE and they attack single priority targets. Like a pack of wolves. One wolf is dangerous but can be overcome if the right plays are made. But a pack is next to impossible to overcome if you're caught out. 3rd 4th and 5th parties prove this. Preds just minimize mistakes, shorten the time to kill and do it in lesser numbers
This is different. I'm not talking about SBMM making a difference in the skill. Even in Smurf level I've seen Predator bedazzled 40k kill players on a fresh new account i use to try different settings. I'm stating that sometimes the game physics change to arbitrarily give a disadvantage regardless if I'm on my 3 year old account or my Duplo level testing account.
Yeah, there are bugs. I remember 2 years ago when the audio for footfall was spot on. It lead to a QOL boost in game play for everyone. Now it's devolved into no audio or misleading audio. I wouldn't even call this a bug. This is a cornerstone feature that was left out to rust.
This is more about me spraying a Mirage center mass with a flatline close range and hitting NOTHING. Then swapping to an alternator, a much more accurate weapon and still hitting nothing and losing, only to have the same scenario, even sweatier situation the next match and landing shots like they were meant to. This goes far beyond no reg issues or inconsistency.
Like seeing how the recoil on an R301 is vastly easier with less recoil when aiming down crouched from high ground. Or how much of a difference a spifire can shoot more accurately and farther if kitted with a purple standard stock and a 3x or a 2x4 optic. I'm talking about how I can shoot someone in the head emptying the mag and it takes 2 seconds (as it should) but I get killed in 0.5 seconds in 9 shots (Take your pick of guns) with both sides wering purple. I can do the same things others are doing, even better than Predators and I still come up on the short end of the straw.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not the worst player. Im able to maintain above a 1 + positive KD/r. This isnt bleating about bad beats. I've been okey doked, bam-fuzzled, snookered and walked away with lessons in mind while giving a few in my 3 years. But when it's so blatant and in your face that you're telling yourself you're insane if you pass of what you see with your own eyes.
Regardless of Apex fanboy apologists making excuses with blame, shame, guilt, anger (GIT GUD) etc. I'm glad I decided to air out my grievances and for my own sanity, see others that had similar experiences and perceptions.- 5 years ago
@CaptWrekAlyfein regards to the firing range I totally agree that it's not the same as a live match in the arena, not even close.
regarding the predator thing, I've talked about it in great details but unfortunately, I couldn't find the thread for some reason, but I recall that I called it ( predators special perk ) and the loot thing is one of them, i even throw a joke that i would pay money to get these special perks ( wasn't ) lol but what is happening in this game is really mesmerizing and the problem is that one you get hooked then you are done for it and will never be able to walk away.
I said once that there is no way I let my son play or even try to play this game because I don't want him to suffer the way am suffering now.
of course, no one will admit that there is something abnormal in this game, doesn't matter if it's an issue with net code, connection, design, or whatever and only the ones who have attention to details and try to learn from their experience will be able to see what is happening here, seriously it feels like a mind game or an experiment that is being conducted and earns some money in the process 🙂
