Nice Job Respawn

https://www.pcgamer.com/amp/respawn-just-became-the-first-oscar-winning-game-developer/

Never played it, never gonna... I don’t even have my oculus in my house... but nevertheless credit’s due where it’s due.

The last part tho is what spoke to me. Respawn is for me and will always be a narrative driven dev studio with good feet on the ground for combining new and old shooter elements in a good package latter. This is presented itself in both Titanfall 1 and 2, and Apex.

So make it happen Respawn!

Also... how did Respawn get it and not other teams that didn’t focus on real life things like one of the teams that made CoD, Dontnod with their Life is Strange series, Visceral even tho they don’t exist anymore with any of their games, Campo Santo with Firewatch, Either of The Last of Us or even Remedy with their same universe tied games...

Not bashing, since I’ve not seen or played the game but I honestly never heard 1 peep about the game... which is not to say that it’s a viable indicator but yea...

@CarbonCarl Indeed, but did you know, since earlier this year there were rumors once again from reliable sources I’ve heard about them still working on the mp version of the Modern Warfare 2 remaster that they only launched the SP of.

So who knows, we might get it back. Hopefully only with updated visuals and nothing changed. Cause last year the talk was that commando, noob tubing and other ‘arcady’ parts were going to get scrubbed.

To noobtubing I say good riddance, but commando pro required skill! I still remember me oftentimes going into a camper house filled with 4-6 ppl and coming out of it with 10+ killz cause they kept spawning back there.

Filthy campers deserve purgatory and that’s what I gave them! Perpetual death without remorse and with no possible input from them!

@Koochi-Q I agree with the campers and noobtubers, it’s why I love battlefield, nowhere to hide!

I honestly stopped playing CoD after blops 1 or 2, it’s only Warzone I have played since which is now just as broken as their multiplayer games.

I’m pumped for the next battlefield title tbh.

@CarbonCarl I’m not a fan of big maps, hence why I for the longest time and mostly still do, dislike BRs. Battlefield, not for me. Too big and open.

I have played and still mostly do play CoD titles for their single player. The MP is just added fun :P

Haven’t kept up with the upcoming latest 2 war titles tho.
  • I remember when Bad company 2 was developed with the first iteration of frostbite and thinking what a game changer that engine would be, personally i think respawns success has been based on that engine and the superior immersion it offers.

I loved MW2 on release but remember thinking how linear it felt when dice were moving forward with multiple vehicles and terrain destruction in the BF series, maybe the MW2 devs thought the same thing 🙂

I love PUBG but even after 4 years i still firmly believe its been hampered by unreal engine and wonder what it would have been like had it been developed by a triple A studio.
