No, it means you are the bottom of the highest lobby. My games are similar although for some reason my team is usually towards the top half despite that fact that I am a solidy average player.
I think this graph is a sugar pill meant to shut us all up about how crappy the matchmaking is. It has backfired spectacularly, IMO.

Agreed, I think they put the data in to assuage peoples' frustrations, but if you really understand what the graphs are saying then the only thing a reasonable person could be is MORE FRUSTRATED. My own personal red line (from no filling) has moved this season from dead center to extreme right, and now just yesterday and today, my fill matches look almost exactly like the graph above. So essentially Respawn is telling me that I, a veteran day-one player with close to 40k matches, have gone from middle to worst to well above average in just the span of a few weeks. I could come up with various different rationales for how the skill assessment algorithm might have come up with that wild swing, but it seems just as likely that the system makes it all up as it goes along. It needs to fill lobbies and doesn't want mediocre players to feel hopeless so they just sort of lie to them about where they are on the graph and who they should be playing with and against.
And that hypothesis is reinforced when, in every single match, my enemies play like really good, well coordinated stacks, and my teammates are the kind of players who may or may not be "good" at the game, but who will not alter their playstyle by so much as an inch to compensate for a reluctant teammate or the stiff competition that the graph is promising them, even though one teammate refuses to even drop with them. It's all just a self-reinforcing spiral of doom. But it isn't really all that different than it ever was. Ash just makes it feel worse.

My skill finally changed after recent update:

I commented on this, however the moderators removed my post.
The only thing this players skill distribution graph does.... is literally show you how broken their MM actually is. Its comical really, that after years of thousands upon thousands of players complaining about disgusting MM - Respawn puts out a graph proving exactly that hahaha.
My graphs almost always have me in pred lobbies and telling me that my team is the worst in the lobby - a lobby I am not supposed to be lumped inside in the first place.
I ask you Respawn... do you really think when I see that graph, and you tell me "heh, your in the toughest lobbies with preds and masters, and you are the worst team and don't stand a chance, good luck, have fun" - what makes you think for a second I'm going to punish myself and continue on without backing out and trying again??????
One session I had was somewhere between 8 and 10 games, everyone of them the graph telling me I'm fodder for highly skilled players to have some fun, backed out of everyone and eventually turned off the game. That was my session in a nut shell.
I guess I can say, thank you - for at least letting me know ahead of time that you are setting me up for not just utter failure, but pure humiliation as well, and giving me the option to back out before that happens. Much appreciated (sarcasm)

Don't think it; know it. The graph itself is a fallacy, as the vast majority of apex players have approximately .33 k/d ratio, meaning a true graphical representation would be anything but the Bell curve they deceivingly present to us. [CM - removed]

Yeah, they added that chart just to make it seem the matchmaking got better. They didn’t actually do anything, and honestly, it’s gotten worse.

To be perfectly honest, I don’t even know why they added this. It’s incomprehensible. I have no idea what I’m looking at. I have no idea what it means. It always looks exact same. I could go off one game not go off the next get rinsed three times off drop win two games in a row and it’s the same. I think it’s just lights and cameras.

I agree with you about being thankful (sort of) that they put the graph up so that at least I know when to back out and try again without just giving it up to a three stack with a combined skill level that exceeds my own by an order of magnitude.
And yes, putting the graph in took balls on their part because it really does confirm everything we've already known forever: it's bad, it's getting worse, and their supposedly "more granular" matchmaking seems to be down to just two or three buckets instead of the promised "more than five." I look at the wide span of the grey areas in these curves and about ninety percent of the time they are so wide that it really is just "everyone to the left of the peak in one bucket, and everyone to the right of the peak in the other," with maybe a third bucket that encompasses the top 3% of players plus whoever is lower skilled that they have to hijack into the match in order to fill it. I pity those poor **bleep**.

Okay, that's funny. The first time I've got a laugh out of this entire dumpster fire. Good job!

Honestly I was quite surprised that they did implement the graph.
And sometimes it feels like there are only 2 buckets that meet and overlap sometimes in the middle.
Either way, its a cancer. But at least I can find out ahead of time that i'm doomed instead of finding out the hard way lol.
