Re: Added Friends On Origin That Use Steam, On My Own Steam Account I Don't See Them

@Popa2capsnow I am more confused I think

1. You use Origin to Play apex, and then add a guy who is using steam to Play Apex.

2. You switch to steam, but didn't add their steam account as friends.

So, you added some people on Origin who use steam to play Apex but they don't show up in your steam friend list (not talking about in-game list, right?). Am I getting this right?

    Yes, that's right.

I started adding friends in Apex Legends using the Origin app. Some of those players use Steam. I downloaded Steam and don't have any friends I added from origin, but While I'm in Apex Legends people join me like they can directly see me in their list.

Really sorry if this is confusing.

    Short way to understand it.

Using Origin, Added steam friends from ingame.

Downloaded Steam, friends added from ingame are not in my friends list.

Side note, if I search for the user I've already added from Steam's friend search, It shows a green checkmark that I do have them added.

  • @Popa2caps  For the record, I have literally zero knowledge on the subject....but could it be something to do with privacy settings at their end? I imagine both steam and origin have them.

@Popa2caps Yeah, you will loose your origin friends that don’t got a steam account. Origin can connect with xbox and PS players, but steam don’t. So.. If you gonna find your friends than they have to make a steam account.
  • @Popa2capsFor clarification-- if I am using steam(or origin) and then I send someone who is also using steam a friend request in-game, it only adds them to my Origin friend list.

They will not show up in my steam friend list, unless I add them through steam client. They will however show up in your Apex friend list in-game IF THEY ARE PLAYING

I have no idea about the green checkmark thing.

Okay, Yeah that sounds about right. I think people are adding my ea account, so I have to find them again directly on the steam app and add them again.

the Greenheck mark is odd, i'll dig more.

100% you got confused from my post. I'm not at all talking about origin friends. I just talking about steam friends added from origin and not being able to see them in my steam friends list.

    You quote:
"I started adding friends in Apex Legends using the Origin app. Some of those players use Steam. I downloaded Steam and don't have any friends I added from origin, but While I'm in Apex Legends people join me like they can directly see me in their list."

That still answer that one. When you are in game you will see your Origin friends and they will see you. Just because you using steam doesn't mean that Apex is a steam game. Nope. Still using Origin as 3rd party.

@ILostT0Loba Simp48aidWraith already helped me and I marketed the topic and finished.

It was simply: People you add in Apex Legends through the Origin app won't show up in your Steam's friends list unless you re-add them.
