Its a * to disable aim assist for the masses just because some * wants to cheat.
Controller in itself is fairly balanced, but a good controller player with good aim combined with a well tunes aim assist is a force to be reconed with in close combat, and I think its ok. A bit of flavor ehh 🙂 (no not controller player, only done that for 4 years, im a mnk now)
@Yohimbay There was a topic on this forum fairly recently that provided a link which somebody had actually done an in depth analysis of both inputs.
It turned out that on average the only way that controller was actually superior was when it came to one clipping people. The rest of the stats studied favoured MnK.
There's this weird myth being propagated by anti crossplay protestors in which aim assist simply removes any effort required when aiming, which simply isn't true, recoil control is still required.
Before you say anything, yes I'm a console player, however I play with AA off and I'm willing to bet its much harder for me to control my spread than it is for you with a mouse.
- Kyldenar4 years agoSeasoned Ace@Zkepz I'm a controller player (who's terrible) on PC because of 1) old and 2) carpal tunnel makes playing fast paced games with M&K literal physical heck.
I know I am not the only one, and aim assist is the only thing that makes the game somewhat playable for me. I am sure I am not the only one.
If they removed it, the sweats would just have less easy targets to pad their streams, cause I would leave and I assume so would others.
And they will never really disable crossplay lobbies. They need their engagement numbers and easy targets for streamers to keep the investors happy.

@Zkepz... 1) old ...Ok stop excusing your age, I'm 49 (role breach/initiate), my IGL (25) keeps smacking me when I'm trying to blame my brainfarts on my age :D (does not stop me though), we just need a bit more practice then the avg 16yo hehe.
Btw I'm not attacking aim assist I am all for it, I attack the converters/XIM. I been in both camps and I been doing well in both camps, its all practice and tuning everything to match you. Controller in my opinion require a pro controller or some insane claw practice which in my eyes is more straining then mnk practice, its actually easier to get decent at mnk then getting decent at controller. However to get good at mnk and controller idd say is quite the same amount of practice (but more tuning on the controller setup which is a pain, mnk can just do best aprox calculation and their done and ready).
All these discussions are getting old to be honest, in apex controller has edge in one thing, while mnk in several - but for really good players its managable. I even think its cool that some pro teams has controller players together with mnk, it just states that there is space for both! Yes I know some games has inbalance between mnk and controller (actually both ways, still mnk has more games favoring them) but Apex is in a decent state if you play around your strengths for your input method.
Edit: (dont shoot me, just sharing my findings) If you feel like blaming others for one input vs the other, try the other and learn it to see how freeking hard it is to master. In general instead of complaining record your gameplay, analyse it and see ... youll see that in most cases there is 1 out of 2 things that is going on, opponent was just plainly better then you or you had a major brainfart, very seldom cheating. When the opponent was better then you be it controller or mnk I bet if you take both players into account there is again two things that come to play, the opponent just had better positioning or practiced a whole lot more then you, and ofc in a few cases he had dumb luck and is shouting all kinds of strange sounds in his mic on the other side.

I first started playing apex on ps4 but i did 1 day decide to have a go on pc. Ive not updated my pc for a good 6/7 years but the game still plays well with the graphics set quite high.
I spent about 2 hours of getting absolutely humiliated playing apex on pc before i switched it off and went back to ps4 lol
I was never bad on pc (was never really that good neither lol) but i totally sucked at apex on pc with mnk
- NickBeam274 years agoSeasoned Ace@MandatoryIDtag I think Controller players need more fine tuned thumb skill to be good, especially with fluid movement over MnK. With AA off on console controller, it is tremendously harder to aim.
According to this Forum, AA is a myth that doesnt do anything
- NickBeam274 years agoSeasoned Ace@RevMainPls Hahaha....of course! Remember when they did the adjustment and dropped the AA on console from 0.6 to 0.4? It was a * show....noticed tons of post here and on Reddit, ppl having a hard time hitting anything. Im sure it was just everyone's imagination lol.
@NickBeam27when that happened it was like someone adjusted your car seat position without you knowing .
this kind of sudden change can cause a lot of problems but I am pretty sure that with time everyone will get used to it and will do the necessary adjustments and start killing it again.
and even if it goes completely off it will be the same as long the whole player base ( console ) is even with that.
there are a lot of people including some of the forum members who play with AA off and they still manage to compete.
the only thing that really upset me is when a PC player give a statement that all controller players are trash as the only thing that helped them to kill this PC player is AA , AA is OP ,AA got a huge advantage
then why the heck don't you buy a controller for 60 USD and become even a better player? but no one seems able to answer this question or want to answer whenever this question is asked XD- @maximas1986 It's because deep down they know mouse is better.
I'm experimenting with aa off atm, just out of pure boredem really, and I agree with you that it's possible if you put in the time you can be just as good as before. Only gun that's giving me some grief is the Wingman at a certain distance, but it's always been a difficult gun. It proves the point though - aa doesn't do as much as people think. I'd say about 5-10% aa, the rest is all you. - NickBeam274 years agoSeasoned Ace
Yeah I agree, If I were to practice and practice with it off....muscle memory at some point would kick in probably would adjust and be just as good without. But with all the other issues right now going on with Apex - seems like the wrong time to turn it off and try without LMAO.
- @NickBeam27 Is there ever a good time? this is Apex after all 😀
@NickBeam27 100% mate, if my concentration drops or I'm tired the amount of shots I whiff is actually laughable. 😛
- NickBeam274 years agoSeasoned Ace@Sand_spitter DOH lol

idk bro, if I changed your mouse sens or DPI you probably wouldn't just "get used to it overtime" but rather change it back,
and I don't have a controller and I can imagine how bad it is to aim on it
- NickBeam274 years agoSeasoned Ace
If I had to, I guess I would do my best to get used to it. But if I never have to - I would prefer that. 🙂
Something tells me my KD would just drop to an all-time low. It can't get any lower! 😃
- @damsonwhufndthis but they didnt change their sens...
You can compare it to someone lowering the FoV of someones aimassist/aimbot on MnK
And yes the cheater would notice that something is off but it wouldnt change his general aim, he would still aim exactly the same way as before but just miss more because the adjustments are not there @NickBeam27 Honestly, if you're transiting from AA to non AA the change isn't too drastic as long as you put some firing range time in.
CQC is the real adjustment though, you really feel the disadvantage then lol.

@RevMainPlsyou are confusing aim assist with aimbot
2 completely different aspects
aim assist helps your crosshair to stay on someone's body, I think it doesn't work on head or shouldn't
aimbot you could be 180° facing someone with your back, and instantly lock onto their head
No its not cod aa, it slows down your weapon when youre over someone, like change sense, so you can have faster sense and then be able to actually aim at the head when you come in area. Its not snapon aim assist like some game like Destiny has, or magnetic bullets like some have.
In destiny you can counter aa by letting your team cross back and forth and make the aim jump between the team so you spread the bullets because of the snapon and pull. I seem to remember I had to tune it to my sense to even make it work but then it slowed down so it was easier for me to track and aim when I had higher base sensitivity, cant remember it giving me a magic aim at all. But I have to admit I havent used controller since season 5.
Destiny aim assist is absolutely ridiculous. As you said, it doesn't work that way in Apex. But the people you're arguing with have no real interest in having an honest, informed discussion. They simply regurgitate talking points from their favorite twitch streamers. I stopped wasting my words quite some time ago on this issue.
@damsonwhufndthisNo my friend i dont,
Let me explain differences:
There are settings
For example Fov/Speed/Tolerance:
Fov: is just the distance where it kicks in and if you are not in the FoV meaning in the area needed so the aimbot or aimassist actually does something it simply wont do anything( this setting exists for both aimbot and aimassist)
Speed: as the name says just determines how fast the aimbot/aimassist pulls to the target, you can imagine the faster the more unnatural it will look
Tolerance: Determines how many shots are allowed to miss if you 0 this one you can be sure every single bullet will 100% hit the desired hitbox, ofc that would look super sus
Usually you would use Aimassist on your usual Shooting Keybind for example LMB. With very low FoV a decently high tolerance and realistic speed
If you would use aimbot at the same time you would have to bind it to a different keybind for example some sidebutton on the mouse with high speed high fov and low tolerance. For flickshots etc
But that doesnt mean you cant use Aimassist with extremly high FoV for example, and i can tell ya that AA from apex has extremely high FoV compared to AA of most hacks.your last post here on this thread.
I really do not think it is needed to be talking about the cheats/hacks themselves and being descriptive on their use and how to set them
I really do believe this is against the ToS of this Forum and would advise that you either edit or delete that post so you avoid getting into trouble.
Your choice though.
@Asmodeus566dont see why it should be against the ToS to show differences between aimbot and aimassist
btw all theese settings also exist for apex AA because they are necessary to make it work
And yes it is needed to talk about regular cheats because AA in Apex does the same thing, so you can objectively compare them
I didnt encourage anyone to cheat nor did i cheat in apex
