- @Koochi-Q i can count to ten in Japanese, does that count? :D
- @Koochi-Q you can try Google translate you know 🙂
@OldTreeCreeperIt does. You can say you know the basics XD. Above message was google translate? xD
Dont wanna do G-translate! I usually don’t do that unless I need to know what something says :P You totally wanted to say what you wrote there!
@Koochi-Q@OldTreeCreeperI'm still working on Spanish 😔😩

I know some anime meme phrases and various Street Fighter special moves, so I'm nearly there.
I got to quite a decent level until advanced Japanese grammar floored me. Plus it's boring that you have to add 'masu' to practically everything and then remember not the pronouce the 'u'. They also often don't pronounce the 'u' in the middle of words. Suzuki is actually pronoucned 'Suz-ki'.
I did learn that subtitles to Japanese movies quite often do not reflect accurately what the characters are saying.
It's also quite a sexist language. Men get three ways to say 'I' (watashi, boku, ore) depending on how masculine they want to sound. The ladies only get to say watashi.
I did like their adoption and adapation of non-Japanese words though. Supermarket is 'supaamaaketto' 🙂
I'm half Filipino and Japanese and would love to join Connor but I barely have time to eat in a day because of my day job as a hospitalist xD
LMAO at all the Japanese responses in this thread. Tip if you wanna learn more Japanese: dont use duolingo 😉
@Cheese9ManLolz I feel offended! I not once in my life had a duolingo account ☹️ I learn from the masters! I just do it in basic sentencing atm ^.^
And now I have another person who can and will teach me japanese so get on with the lesson!
@MandatoryIDtag, in all languages I (kinda) speak, I have my own way. English is not the only way I do it my way xD.Wait, where is oro ;0
- @Cheese9Man I started with duolingo and moved on to busuu but once they tried to teach you how to construct long sentences the grammar rules were not explained well enough and I had to go off buusu to work it out, which eventually became too laborious.
Hardly worth it just to tell my friends "my sister's husband works in a small office" in Japanese, especially when he's actually a lorry driver 🙂 @EdwardDLuffy used an app to teach the kids to count to twenty in Chinese, as I had the Japanese and a few others covered. It did the pronunciations too which made it easy. But as usual after that it went downhill. 😃 kind of an important life skill to be able to count to 10 in a language I think.
- @Cheese9Man What's wrong with Duo?
@EA_David the only manga phrase I'm familier with is "Akira" 😃
When I bought the video cassette upon its release way back when, it came along with 2 original animation cells from the movie. I don't think I've come across a better manga film in all my years at sea.
- @OldTreeCreeper I didn't care for Akira cuz the story &plot was weird to me. It was hard to follow. Animation was dope tho.
@Lord_Scorpion34 @OldTreeCreeper hmmmm never heard of akira, I may have to have a nosey around for it.

@MandatoryIDtag It's a classic, but it's pretty intense watching at times. One of the first films to show young me that not all animation is for kids. Oh no.
@OldTreeCreeper @Lord_Scorpion34 To bring it back around to Apex, we have this really cool Valk fanart from Twitter

You can't be a real anime watcher & not have heard of this movie lol. Even though I didn't like it every anime person should watch it at least once. I watched it on Netflix or Hulu.
@EA_DavidI posted this in another thread lol
@EA_David I'll deffo check it out...just googled it and it sounds interesting.
@Lord_Scorpion34 it came out the year I was born....possibly why I missed it lol. XD
@MandatoryIDtag Oooo, young man 😃 the late 80's were a lot of fun.
@MandatoryIDtag wrote:@Lord_Scorpion34 it came out the year I was born....possibly why I missed it lol. XD
Thats no excuse! You were born so you could’ve watched it in the same year!
- @MandatoryIDtag That's a lame excuse lol. I've seen plenty of movies that came out before I was born lol. It's ok tho. At least you know now lol.
- @EdwardDLuffy Now that I've never heard of.
@Lord_Scorpion34 Ayeeeee, but the odds of stuff slipping through the net does increase somewhat haha. 😛
Fist of the North star is probably my favourite out of the oldies I've seen.
- @Lord_Scorpion34 Yeah, well I can forgive you for that one 😉
- @MandatoryIDtag What about Ghost in the Shell? Princess Mononoke? Spirited Away? Have you heard of these?
