Re: New Trailer: GOOD AS GOLD

@asukojo As soon as I saw them exchanging the grenade, I knew which road they were heading towards. I predicted the chain of events for a considerable amount...

Only question is ‘Salvo’? The one mentioned on the telly, who or what is that.

That Salvo planet is crazy, there seem only to be fighting and fighting

Do you think he will get a robot arm or will fight with 1 arm?

@DoYaSeeMe So that's at least where salvo core comes from I reckon. @BaldWraithSimp & @hayhor thx for the info. I just rewatched the last part on my tablet with captions so that made more sense...

BUT you know what I'm thinking...

If you look at the vid and have pinged the blimp or know your stuff about apex, something seems off. Mags always seemed to be the more lvlheaded person of the bunch. Look where she's situated in the end... In a bar surrounded by stuff. The blimp also speaks (if you're loba) about new stuff.

This got me thinking. What if fuse (the male) is not the fuse joining apex but that maggie or someone got to him first, offed him and then maggie joins the games as fuse as retaliation that Salvo joined the Syndicate Space and if someone else killed her partner, as a way to find out who did it and as an homage to her partner and a message to the killer...

Either way she's a jealous busybody!

@DK9027 not me, but I liked the old school rock and it made me think of KISS ;D

and I agree with @hayhor, definitely robotic arm... just for the simple case that no legend so far can use an Ult accell without 2 functioning hands.

    LOLZ WTF @asukojo XD
  • Spoilerz: I didn't read it as jealous, I read it as she didn't want him to leave their love frenemy relationship that they had.  And you know, both of them had anger issues.

But yes, whoever leaves an arm behind and walks away without regret wins :D

@KelRiever I saw the jealousy starting from the first or second grenade exchange. If you look closely... well not even closely, you can see that she has a hard time 'conceding defeat' aka handing over the grenade and it gets slightly more visible each time.

I get the love frenemy, but I really don't see it as them having that relationship. It's just a competitive 'I got one over you' friendly relationship and we all know how that ends, even if the intention was good.

Just like 2 guys daring each other to do dumb stuff when knowing you yourself will likely not be able to do that but seeing the other did it. You're glad for him but deep down you're mad at yourself that he could do what you could probably not and end up resenting both him and yourself for it... do that for a long time and the kettle breaks
  • I think its a perfect made for Apex story either way @Koochi-Q   Maybe not 'romantic' love but they're like brother and sister.  I mean, she still doesn't want him to leave, and there's a sense of honor, like she has to toss him the prize if he wins it.

In the end, one of them has to be a potential future enemy tho, right?  Conflict, it's what makes a story!

@KelRiever Yea definitely. They have a brother-sister relationship and or best bro’s kind of one. She definitely doesn’t want him to leave, that’s why I agreed with your previous take on their relationship.

That honor tho is where the fighting and resenting begins with and ends with. Especially now since there’s no more grenade so no truce is necessary as ‘they mean nothing’ to each other anymore even tho they still deeply care for one another.

Not sure how somebody can loose his arm while his finger/palm still fully intact. Should you loose your leg like Octane instead.

  • For my part, I really hope they're getting somewhere with all this.

I have to admit to being a little disappointed and confused as to why we aren't getting Ash as the season 8 legend. After they introduced Revenant, and followed up with Loba they set a standard for a kind of continuity with the lore and legend releases but they are leaving a lot of strings untied. Ramparts introduction seemed kinda irrelevant story-wise, but I could chalk that up to giving time for the quest events and comic pages to unfold.

I guess all I'm trying to say is that it feels off and disconnected. Ok, yay we get a mad-max esque, cockney, biker bar grenade guy? Pardon me for a moment while I sort out my underwhelmed apathy for this one. :/

@blkarmphoenix Two things.  First off, again, I don't really know if they're going to make TF2 Lore Pilots, who are more like superheroes, characters in what is supposed to be a sort of low tech or at least Outlaw blood sport.

But aside from that, as much as I didn't want it to be, the Ash thing is turning out to be yet another hook to string people along.

The comics in general have not been great.  And to me they've done little to advance the lore.  That's in stark contrast to the full production movies that have done an amazing job.  I was more surprised that we're not going to get that detective with Pathfinder than Ash.  But neither apparently.  It's Fuze!  Fyooz!

@KelRiever I think Ash & Blisk will never come or it’ll be somewhere far into the future of Titanfall lore happening within Apex just so the lore still remains and ppl don’t forget.

What better way to uphold a legacy of something than by pumping it into a highly successful spin-off while working on the main story behind the scenes in the la grand finale (titanfall).

So I agree with you again man of wisdom!
  • I get this feeling that we're going to get Mags, not Fuse. Her punkish outfit in the video looks nice, a bit more elaborated than what Fuse is wearing,  would definitely be a nice skin for Apex.

A theory: Being mad about the treaty that practically puts salvonians under Syndicate control and especially because this has also taken her life partner away from their cause for good, Mags (and her salvonian freedom fighters) bomb the hell out of Kings Canyon, with some hope that this will at least break the alliance. This ends up badly, apparently killing Fuse this time and leaving her heartbroken. The Syndicate offers to the salvonian warlord to keep the agreement, with the condition that Mags is caught and given to them. The warlord agrees and the Syndicate gets her, but they don't jail or execute her, to not stir the freedom fighters even more. Instead, they offer her a path to redemption by taking part in the Apex Games, playing in the place that she destroyed. Later, as Mags rises to fame, Syndicate reveals that Fuse is still alive, kept in one of their jails as guarantee and then they warn her that they will execute him if Mags leaves the Apex Games to return to Salvo. Her love for Fuse will make her behave as good as gold.

Her tactical could be drinking some alcohol then spitting flames or a Molotov cocktail. Her ultimate could be a fire grenade or falling bomb that explodes on impact, either trapping the enemies or protecting her squad inside a ring of fire.
