Re: Origin Name changes? Why no one talking about this?

Why is no one talking about how hackers can easily change their tag and remain undetected?
E.A add some phone verification please

I'm pretty sure a namechange is cosmetic only on the user-end.

Accounts still have a numbered account ID

Yeah cause it is nearly impossible to get SIM cards to verify accounts just like 2 weeks ago all you guys thought it was impossible to get around a hardware ban please get over this hacking will always be a part of pc

We should also have an account code also next to our name also so that if name changes are made and we report they cannot dodge the report.

@neillkorey so you just expect us all to lie down and accept the blatant cheating that is going? Just "roll with it"?

So just because people get murdered we should just go with, as people will always get murdered by someone else. So why fight it?
  • @Balzano

Didnt say to live with it but would like to see ideas that would actually work

and phone number verification can be easily worked around just like hardware bans it will not work

  • To «end» cheating the players must be uniquely identified behind the scenes. This will happen eventually, but it’s going to get a lot worse before it gets better.

Until then all we can do is wait for EAC to improve their game or wait for the cheatmakers to move on to the next big thing. But when that happens we’ll likely be there as well.

The issue with anti cheat stepping their game up, is the law.

It would be against the law for them to implement intrusive anti cheat measures.

@Wingmannedbro Wrong. All they need to do is add into their terms of service that more intrusive measures will be used to detect cheaters and if you don't like that, don't play the game. If you got nothing to hide, then its not a problem.

Wrong, there are lawful statutes that say breaking into peoples computers is illegal, it's called cybercrime and companies are not allowed to do this.

You're very mistaken if you think  party A can put anything they want into some contract, and that contract being fully compliant with legislature if party B happened to sign it.

    That is absolutely not true.

I am not saying for E.A or respawn to do something like breaking into someones computer. They simply collect "advanced telemetry" and do not need to state what it is they are collecting. Companies to this all the time, with user consent of course.

Precisely, they are doing what can be done within the framework of the law. Law would have to change for intrusive methods, like being able to see the desktop image of users to see their wallhack etc.

Detecting cheaters from data alone with algorithms obviously allows cheatmakers to avoid detection.

I changed my name atleast 3 times, I didnt even think of cheaters using it for this purpose OMG im gonna get banned !!

How about using a two step system many use -- enter name here --- enter public ingame name here ( this can then be changed as often as one wishes ) --solved
