Re: Rank 3.0 Arsenal; by hidden MMR

LOL. So basically ranked just became pubs and everyone starts hotdropping with double or nothing mentality. If they get downed immediately the awesome new super good MM will give them a easier match next game. Ranked becomes more exploitable to kill the casual player base.

GGs. You are most welcome streamers. 20bombs & 6Ks all day against average joes. Sincerely EA/Respawn.

Just remove the Battle Royale from the game description. It has nothing to do with this kind of playstyle that is being encouraged.

This might be true if hidden mmr was based exclusively on the first ten matches, but I'm sure it will continue to evolve over time. And if some diamond tier player wants to throw that many matches just to be able to smurf for an extra day or two... well, then at least a few poor average joes will get a quick kill off of him, so there's that.

@Airish85 Not really it has a ladder to climb and is mostly based on placement rather than kills. Way less hot landing in this mode

@reconzero MMR wont be based on 10 games... it is adjusting all the time. The 10 games are only to get an approximate skill rating for you before the start of the rank season so you get similarly skilled opponents faster.

No, I get it. It's a constantly moving target, as it should be. But the fact that they can accurately assess ability in ten matches (some other developers used to claim as few as four) tells me that you are what you are, at least for the moment, and that the only reason the seasons are structured as they currently are is to get people to play as much as possible. "At least for the moment" does allow for improvement over time, if that's your jam, but I still believe whole-heartedly that there's a reason they call it a grind, and I'm always surprised at how many people jump into it with enthusiasm when it's such a transparent mechanism of manipulation.
