With the upcoming year two of the ALGS, Respawn will be implementing some new rules and changes and I wanna ask your opinions on the matter especially those who play ranked.1) Once again gold knockdown shields are removed from the game and for the first time, heat shields. The question is that should we also implement these changes in ranked mode? I could care less about gold knockdowns but I kinda like the heat shields since it has saved me multiple times in clutch time. The pros continue to say that there's no place for gold knockdown shields in the game and should only stay in normal trios/duos or just remove them entirely. 2) Also, once again people are crying for ranked RP changes. Their point was Respawn continues to say that this is a team-based game (hence removal of solos) but getting RP is still based mostly on an individual's skill. Is it about time that Respawn make some changes on how we get RP in rank?Curious what you guys think or you just don't really care what they do in the ALGS? Also, the pros can be cry babies a lot of times but sending death threats is unacceptable just for giving an opinion in a video game.

Gold knockdowns are kinda useless anyway. How many times are you allowed to spend an eternity pulling it off? Either it should be easier to revive yourself, if they are serious about having it as a feature, or they might as well scrap it.Ranked is dumb. Have no idea of what to change or whatever. All I know is that I have no inclination to play ranked the way it currently works. So changes of any sort would be welcomed.

@BaldWraithSimpWell algs affects me as a viewer. Who doesnt love a comeback story? Why cant teams ride the ring and use heatshields when needed? The guy complaining is someone who prefers early rotations to sit inside buildings and wait. The game changed a bit and now teams that take some late rotation tactics are winning so guess what.....he is crying about it. I cant win change it! Waaaaaaah!Also my response was also in regards to whether they should just remove them from the game. No, pulling a clutch selfrevive or heat shielding when screwed is fun.

@hayhor Same reason why Lifeline drone doesn't heal you anymore in storm so you can't just sit inside the ring deliberately and call it a 'tactic'. Gold knockdown wasn't removed due to one guy complaining, a lot of people were asking for it.You could kill one team and turns out one guy has a gold knockdown shield so you miss out on your kills, plus he gets higher positioning if you get attacked while trying to finish that guy. It's a lot different when money is involved, you were referring to algs when you said the rule is dumb. But whaaa, stop whining! I don't see the issue when I play pubs!

@Cheese9Manthe real question is, do we really need this game to be circling around the ( PROS) who are making a living from this game and let the devs mold it based on their opinions so the casuals who want to play just to have fun have to suffer and make every single match feels like ALGS?if so then we should expect a huge change in the reward system for the casuals if they are going to match every aspect of it based on the rules and likening of people who play it 24/7and I got an idea if these guys gonna interfere in the development of the game then these so-called ( PROS) and streamers should not be allowed to be in casual lobbies.let them have their own servers so they can practice killing each other.we got enough streamers and (PROS) to make these servers full and playable all the time, make a system that any player wants to earn the title ( PRO ) Apex player have to register their name with EA then they can play on the (PRO ) server ONLY

@Cheese9Man Wow I didnt even notice that last time. That is dumb. And heat shields being removed is even worse. So basically because tsm cant win anymore they need to remove anything they dont like. This is why I hate hal.

@Cheese9Man Pros are right about gold knockdowns, i also would like to see them removed in ranked. As for heat shields they're fine, i don't think they ruin the game to somebody else. Ranked changes, well, it took them like 8 seasons to increase the kill cap by just one, so we'll have to wait a lot to any other major improvement in the RP system. My dream is to have like a season 10.5 update instead of season 11, where we do not get any new major content but instead we get lots of bug fixes and server improvements. Buy you know, this is just a dream lol.

@Cro_Pittt Same here. I can’t suggest a better RP system in ranked but there’s definitely something off about the current system on how we get RP.

@Cheese9Man Oh god, I shared that tweet from Hal on reddit about needing a change for rank, and the replies had me baffled.

Most of them were saying, that allowing demotion in ranks, would entice higher level players to intentionally lose RP and derank to go farm lower ranks.

I am one to praise demotion, P4 and D4 are notorious when it comes to time spent within those tiers, and for obvious reasons. If not demotion, then pls change the RP system, make it less rewarding so that Gold players can't make the jump to P4 so damn easily, same with Plat to D4.

@Cheese9Man What do you mean once again gold knockdowns are removed? Theyve never removed them before that I know of? Also it is funny, when a pro loses to something, they all want it removed but when they win with it they are happy. I'd keep both in both myself.

As for ranked points, I think combined kp should be a thing.

@Gabrielmojo26 The problem with demotion is it would allows the same thing that happens in fifa- people self relegating themselves. The reason it cannot happen in apex is the game is team based. A bunch of self relegators would ruin other people's games. And yes I know the ones hard stuck do that now but it would probably be even worse.

The issue I have with ranked is allowed smurfs to jump right into it. And if you dont play ranked you can fall all the way back. Smurfs and high levels dropping back ruin the new player lobbies. In season 9 I only played like 20 or so games of ranked in bronze and silver and 75% of my killers had pred/masters badges or 4k/20 bombs. I cannot imagine how that feels for a new player.

@hayhorThere's probably a way to implement a demotion system that doesn't allow you to be demoted from lets say Masters, all the way down to, Silver.

Something needs to budge tho, for example, giving more RP to the last standing teammate, just brain storming here.

What I do know is, typical games of Plat 4 lobbies, are the jumpmaster diving frag thinking it'll be the same outcome as he had in Gold lobbies, they insta die, and the better player ends up solo, with the option of going for a suicide mission to recover banners, or hoping for a quick kill off the drop to rat himself to a 5th place finish to recoup a few measly rank points.

This is honestly 80% of Plat 4 games, and if you do get lucky with a few good games in a row, you'll lose the acquired RP within all the bad ones that follow. I find myself needing to be a really selfish teammate in order to rank up from Plat 4, and we all know what that brings to the table, toxicity!
I should add, this is my experience as a solo queuing player, which rank has never been rewarding to.

Well, for starters I don't really give a toss what "pros" or "content creators" say. Being an ex FIFA veteran I learned to ignore them a long time ago. I mean, literally 99.999% of the Apex crowd aren't pros and what they * about really does not affect us in the least so they should have zero say to be honest. It makes no sense.
I like the fact you are locked in at the level you are promoted to. First time I played Ranked I was stuck at G4 pretty much permanently but I was ok with that. If you open that gate then people will start relegating themselves for easy objectives/games which makes it a misery for others. FIFA is terrible for this and one of the reasons I stopped playing. Make any reason otherwise you want but this *WILL HAPPEN*.
As for gold knockdown shield, not sure what the big deal is. They are pretty rare to start with and, as observed above, it's rarely practical to pull it out. You don't want to use the shield as that telegraphs what you have and you need to crawl off somewhere to use it which takes time which you will almost never have. Not really an issue.
As for the death threats... seriously? Wow, what is wrong with people. I disagree with lots on here (and agree with lots too) but not sure why this should ever be a thing. If possible these losers need to be called out/banned/whatever now. Totally unacceptable.

@hayhor They were removed last time in the ALGS. The new thing that will be removed are the heat shields. 😃

@Cro_Pittt How are pros right about the gold knockdowns? The post isn't listed, and I actually searched for Hal's post and didn't find it.

I'm with @RockDokRock and @CCbathwater - they are so very rarely ever a factor I'm not seeing what the big deal is about. They're rare to start with, they take forever to pull off, and the moment you pop it to prevent from being thirsted it's over.
