I get it though, I can see the story etc. and all that. I love the character btw from a design perspective. It is classic Titan Fall which I love. But I fail to see why anyone thought she would make sense in Apex with the abilities given to her? Story is one thing, game play is another.
@Sand_spitter Imo, devs lowkey push out characters without thinking of repercussions. Caustic - only he himself can fully go in a 1v1 with himself, Octane - for several seasons was a useless teammate in a "team based" game, Wattson/Crypto - love em both but devs didn't realize majority wasn't gonna sit down and practice them, Horizon - ch.1 of breaking rules everyone follows, Valk - ch.2 but it's the arc where her ult is so strong no other existing or future character will answer to it, Seer - whoever thought long range flashbang was a good idea needs to be fired, Maggie - high skill cap character who's main job is movement and disruption ... but theres easier characters who do both. Theres others but these where the big ones.
- 4 years ago@jaygates879 I agree with a lot of what you say. But I would still like to know why people think she is a good addition to the game. Why was she needed? Until now everyone has been super silent about it....

@Sand_spitter I would say Valk is a fun addition. Most people would say Octane is fun, but I hate his existence and alot of people would align this same hatred for Valk and others. Did the game need her ? No not exactly, same can be said for others tho. From devs perspective she's innovative "atleast during this time copy and paste was not an option" and pros use her as mainstay meta, but before season 9 you have to be crazy think a character who can jump their entire team across a map was a good idea. When season 9 happened, some of us accepted her, some us tolerated, and some others complain because she doesn't have the same limits most characters do. For the most part, I prefer characters who fill roles over copy and paste types and while Valk doesn't copy, it's a role nobody expected a character in apex to have and it ended up becoming a necessity for many.

@jaygates879Ok, so, fun; that's cool. That's pretty much how I see it.
I would like to know how the rest of the community sees her.
Personally I won't play her, nor play in a party that has her.
I'm struggling to understand certain things.
I will post my detailed opinion of her at the end in a non-rant if possible, if it's still relevant by then. But the main interest is how YOU see her.
- hayhor4 years agoHero@Sand_spitter She was a good addition for SP since that maps lacks jump towers ans sucks to move about on. Though I don't think her release and then that maps release not having them was a coincidence. Almost like it was pre-planned to get more people using her 😉
I think they need to remove her ability to beacon and flight scan. Make her an attacker, not a recon legend.- Kyldenar4 years agoSeasoned Ace

She's got too much in the Kit. Remove the recon stuff so there is a risk with skyward dive of landing in the middle of a firefight and not knowing the ring rotation to jump too without working with a 2nd character who is recon, and she's suddenly a lot more balanced.
She'll still have a high pickrate because the only non-mobility's in the top is Gibby (clear reasons why) and Bloodhound (scan meta, and can be argued he also has movement enhance with his ult) but at least her kit would not be overloaded.
