@Sand_spitter Imo, devs lowkey push out characters without thinking of repercussions. Caustic - only he himself can fully go in a 1v1 with himself, Octane - for several seasons was a useless teammate in a "team based" game, Wattson/Crypto - love em both but devs didn't realize majority wasn't gonna sit down and practice them, Horizon - ch.1 of breaking rules everyone follows, Valk - ch.2 but it's the arc where her ult is so strong no other existing or future character will answer to it, Seer - whoever thought long range flashbang was a good idea needs to be fired, Maggie - high skill cap character who's main job is movement and disruption ... but theres easier characters who do both. Theres others but these where the big ones.

@Sand_spitter I would say Valk is a fun addition. Most people would say Octane is fun, but I hate his existence and alot of people would align this same hatred for Valk and others. Did the game need her ? No not exactly, same can be said for others tho. From devs perspective she's innovative "atleast during this time copy and paste was not an option" and pros use her as mainstay meta, but before season 9 you have to be crazy think a character who can jump their entire team across a map was a good idea. When season 9 happened, some of us accepted her, some us tolerated, and some others complain because she doesn't have the same limits most characters do. For the most part, I prefer characters who fill roles over copy and paste types and while Valk doesn't copy, it's a role nobody expected a character in apex to have and it ended up becoming a necessity for many.

@jaygates879Ok, so, fun; that's cool. That's pretty much how I see it.
I would like to know how the rest of the community sees her.
Personally I won't play her, nor play in a party that has her.
I'm struggling to understand certain things.
I will post my detailed opinion of her at the end in a non-rant if possible, if it's still relevant by then. But the main interest is how YOU see her.- Gabrielmojo264 years agoSeasoned Ace@Sand_spitter "Personally I won't play her, nor play in a party that has her."
Are you saying you leave games when someone wants to play Valk?

@jaygates879 yesterday in Arenas, I went in and saw Valkyrie and Octane on the other team. "Oh no we lost already, good game guys!" is what I said in my mic. They asked me why. "I have never been in an arena match won with Valkyrie and Octane on the other team. Let's give them what they came here for and make them work for it.". After we lost the first round one player quit. Considering the odds we didn't do too bad, but it was still a slaughter.
I plan to unlock Valkyrie next when I reach level 103. Octane is fast and heals, assuming the two communicate well enough, Valkyrie can get the birds eye view and tell Octane where to go for kills. Meanwhile the 3rd team member can stand there an watch as she uses missile swarm to soften their shields. I am sure there is some combo that could mess with them, I just haven't seen it yet. All the characters seem to work as intended, out of the ones I have unlocked, I like Mirage for his ability to fake you out with his decoy, and Crypto for the surveillance drone than can EMP the shields.

In my opinion, it seems a little off to have characters that are able to reach ridiculous heights at any given moment to avoid a fight others are not capable of doing.
Like say, having one UFC fighter that is allowed to use steroids while the rest cannot. Or one Nhl goalie "cough cough" Garth Snow - that would say, be allowed to wear well over sized goalie pads to defend his net while every other goalie is forced to use the standard size Lol.
Don't get me started with Seer and his passive 24/7 free unlimited wallhack, that is a whole other level of national lamboonary.
All in all, she is a cool character, looks good, is fun to use, just for me she seems like she does not belong in Apex. Nobody should be able to abort an entire team to the other side of a map, while my lifeline has to run for the nearest cover and heal up - hoping Seer isn't looking at me from 250 meters away ping spamming his teammates. : )

I think they need to remove her ability to beacon and flight scan. Make her an attacker, not a recon legend.- Kyldenar4 years agoSeasoned Ace

She's got too much in the Kit. Remove the recon stuff so there is a risk with skyward dive of landing in the middle of a firefight and not knowing the ring rotation to jump too without working with a 2nd character who is recon, and she's suddenly a lot more balanced.
She'll still have a high pickrate because the only non-mobility's in the top is Gibby (clear reasons why) and Bloodhound (scan meta, and can be argued he also has movement enhance with his ult) but at least her kit would not be overloaded.
- 4 years ago@hayhor I guess, my biggest frustration with this character happens to be on Storm Point too. 50% of my deaths on that map is to a Valkayrie. She does it all already so yeah, they could just pick and choose at this point what they want her to be.
