16:9 image format to 21:9 without black bars with +mat_wide_pillarbox 0.

In recent patch (Season 24) devs changed, how ultrawide monitors handle other image formats, than their native 21:9 with DX12 api. With default settings, the image is not stretched and it shows black bars on sides of the screen. This can be fixed with +mat_wide_pillarbox 0 launch argument, which should make image stretched (as written in patch notes for Season 24). Unfourtanetly even after using this launch argument my game still shows black bars. I'm launching game from Steam. Does it only work with EA app, or with Steam?  I tried many fixes and i cant  make it work again as before. Does anyone know the trick? Please help.

  • Same thing if you'll find a solution let me know please. I think that i searched and tried everything at this point

  • try this commands: +mat_wide_pillarbox 0 -novid -anticheat_settings=SettingsDX11.json
found it on steam, worked for me

  • That's one way of fixing it, but i'd like to find a solution and stay on DX12 because i get smoother gameplay while using it(

At the moment, out of everything I've tried, only switching to DX11 allows me to stretch the screen. I'm not thrilled with the smoothness of the game on DX11 too.

  • Yeah, and they said that they're going to drop the DX11 support in the coming months... Not looking forward to that because i can't play not stretched
