Skullboi9000 You would need to use your old Xbox Account for the following reasons:

Your EA Account can only be linked to one platform account in its lifetime, (meaning it can only be linked to one Xbox Account, one PlayStation Account, etc.), so you won't be able to link another Xbox Account.
Your Apex progress and data is stored on your EA Account, so if you unlink the Xbox Account, that can cause a loss of some, (or all), of your Apex progress and data, (and possibly cause issues for the linked PlayStation Account as well).
Your Apex progress and data also cannot be transferred, (or merged), to another EA Account.
