Progress is stored on the EA account level, not on individual platforms like PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, etc. This means if you link your platform to a different EA account, you'll lose access to that progress and it will appear to have reset. Progress cannot be moved between different accounts.
If you've played on Switch before, that means your Nintendo account was linked to an EA account at some point. That's the account that would have any progress you had made. If you're trying to access that progress on PC, you'd need to figure out which EA account was linked there and just log into that EA account via Steam or EA app instead.
If you're not sure which EA account was used, or there's one you can no longer access, our support should be able to help take a look. The Contact us option at the bottom of the article will let you open a case with them if needed.
Hey XFinder23,
Unlinking any other platforms from your EA account can absolutely cause a loss of progress in general, so I'd definitely be sure to take a look through this article for more details.
What are the risks?
When you unlink a platform account from your EA Account, you can link it to another EA Account, but your game progress won’t transfer over. That means you’ll permanently lose access to:
- game progress
- DLC, expansions, and anything extra you have for your game
- memberships and subscriptions
- previous drops and other rewards
- in-game purchases.
There are also some additional potential side effects for both Steam and Apex Legends specifically which you can find in the link above, so generally speaking we'd suggest avoiding an account unlink whenever possible.
