Apex freezing in menu on laptop, require hard reboot

Hello, I would like to report a problem that has been happening for the last 2 weeks, Apex has been freezing the whole laptop(require a hard reboot) after 2-3 minutes in the menu, this happen everytime and I'm unable to play the game since. I've tried everything, reinstalling the game, update and even rollback nvidia driver, verify game files,... and nothing work. I've seen other people have this same problem and apparently it happens to primarily laptop users.

  • I have the same problem as well. I tried all the possible solutions available on the internet, but in the end I decided to wait for the mid-season update. After updating, the issue is still present. The problem has been ongoing since mid-December.

Having the same issue, 100% replicated. No available solution. tried everything with ChatGPT. It said to roll back to Windows 10 22H2, I don't want to do that.

i already try to get back to windows 10 and it doesnt work :( i was hoping for the update yesterday to fix it but nothing change

  • Indeed, even reverting to all the old definitions/drivers that were previously stable did not help. The issue seems to be more widespread among laptop users.
I would also like to add that the processor usage reaches 100%, while the graphics card does not exceed 70%. All indicators appear to be normal except for the CPU usage. I even decided to make sure that the game was not running on the integrated graphics card, and indeed it was running on the dedicated (external) GPU. Therefore, I do not know exactly what is causing this extremely high CPU usage.

yep i confirm my too reach 100 cpu usage but i try it in other game and if it reach 100% the other games dont crash. so i dont know maybe apex continuously run it at 100% thats why it freeze

I believe the issue is related to shader loading in the main menu, as I noticed some strange stuttering, as if there is a heavy load during the background animation.

Yes, it is indeed working. Thank you for the observation.
I will try testing it today and tomorrow to make sure the issue has been completely resolved.
