Used to be able to run this game fine, but for the past few days I get a freeze for like 3 seconds mid-game and then the whole games closes with no error. I talked to EA and they recommended some solutions, I managed to play the game at my preferred graphics for 5-6 games without issue before the problem came back. We just have to wait and hope for them to find out the core of the problem and fix it.
Could be luck, but when i put -vulkan on launch options of the Origin like in dota 2, the game never crashed playing in one hour here using a FX6300 with 6 cores. If it didn't work, try -dx9, -dx12 , -gl . GL = OpenGL. It was the only thing i saw that nobody tried here, lol.
- doesnt work for me
they updated the game but still crashing good job EA they dont care us
you have to disable your 5th and 6th core on your cpu through your bios to make it work, search online how to do it with your own motherboard
After update 3 crashes
yes they dont care us classic EA games
@mustachexgaming it worked thank you!!! I've tried everything... and nothing worked except for this, everyone with a FX-6300 should disable their 5th and 6th core on BioS, enjoy!
@DrEggrage This kind of works for me too, I still get crashes that send me directly to desktop, but no more of the "Disconnected from EA servers", that used to be very common. My only problem now is I feel the fx-6300 is not powerful enough to run the game at 1080p 60fps, so hopefully they will fix this problem.
The only tips I could recommend, if turning graphics down all the way doesn't work, are:
1. Turn off all Origin Overlay/Notification/Cloud Save settings.
2. Right click on Apex -- Properties -- Compatibility Tab -- Turn on "Run as Administrator" and "Compatibility Mode" (Windows 7) and turn off "Disable full screen optimizations"
3. Follow Step 2, but for Origin.
3. Clean all your caches and temp files (I use CCleaner).
4. Update your drivers (I'm on AMD 19.2.1).
5. Right click on Apex through Origin and Repair.
6. Right click on Apex through Origin and go to "Game Properties" -- Turn OFF "In-Game Overlay" -- Go to second tab and cap your fps (mine is: +fps_max 100)
Nothing I have tried has 100% fixed the problem, but some of these tips may help some of you.
