I used to have an engine error for the game, but used several fixes such as rolling back drivers and transferring it between SSD and Hard Drive, aswell as repairing the game.
Now Engine error doesn't pop up anymore, but instead another problem has popped up. I keep freezing and then crashing midgame, about 5 minutes or 10 minutes whilst playing Apex in the lobby or in the game. All of my drivers are up to date, and the specifications of my computer are good enough to run the game at all high, but I have moved back the settings all to the lowest possible.

I have exactly the same Problem, started out with an engine error, got that fixed now i either lose connection in Lobby all the time or the game freezes and crashes after 5-10 minutes midgame or in lobby. hmu when you found a solution or anything PLEASE!

And yet another thread about this.. as far as I know people with all kinds of specs experience these issues and there's no real solution for this.
There are a lot of different things people claimed to have fixed it for them, including rolling back their GPU drivers(especially with AMD GPUs), disabling Origin ingame overlay, making sure neither steam nor discord runs in the background, disable G-Sync, run the game fullscreen instead of borderless and so on...
As far as I can tell there's no real solution for this though and all we can do is hope Respawn fixes these issues soon.

I have tried all the so called "Fixes" rolling back drivers, full screen, no over lay, etc. and none of them work.
This should not be on players to fix. EA should have this fixed already if they want people to play this game.
I came from fortnite hoping this game would be better. I like the game play better but with the constant crashes and no solution from EA, im deleting the game and going back to fortnite. At least it is stable.

Same problem I have a xfx r9 280x. Everything is updated and running fine with other games, the first and second day of playing everything was fine and now every couple of matches everything freezes and I have to turn of the computer. I can still access windows but I can't in any way close the game. Help?

Same problem, my game does not regularly
crash in game, but from time to time it does. My game does freeze in the lobby after 5 mins when I launch my game, then it says connection timed out.I have triens everything to reinstall the game to repairing it.- 7 years ago
The only thing you should definitely make sure of if you're crashing regularly is that your rig isn't overheating.. if that's not the case, there's probably not much you can do for now.
Well, apart from trying the "fixes" others come up with in the forums. None of the ones I came across so far seemed to work for me though and I honestly think it's the game.. As annoying as it might be, waiting for Respawn to fix it is probably the way to go
- 7 years agoI've done all of the above except trying to reinstall. I'm going to try that next but I also I have been running boarderless windowed mode the whole time. I'll test that theory to see what kind of luck I get. Any help is greatly appreciated..

Had the same issue, crashing nearly every game.
Nothing worked for me so i uninstalled my latest driver with DDU and installed 417.35 and i have only had 1 crash in the 6 hours i played today

Im having the same issue, i've tried every fix they put out. I had a hardware monitor up on my other screen to see if my GPU was overheating or whatever, and i noticed the game pushes it to 100 percent usage, and then even while sitting in the lobby and just waiting, my gpu and cpu usage drops to 0 percent for 6 seconds exactly and then comes back. If this happens while in a game its a 50/50 chance it will just crash. I don't know what changed from Wednesday to Thursday, but prior to that it was working fine with no hiccups. I really like this game and it out right angers me that they have been so quiet about this issue on PC.
AMD FX-6350
AMD Radeon RX 480
32 Gb ram
- 7 years agoI'm having the same problem, I thought it was an only radeon thing but it seems anyone is getting it.
Rig:
Fx 6100
8gb ram
win 10
Radeon R7 370
It's just random I get some freezing or game just closes and I get disconnected from every match.
Tried Re installing video drivers and every game config- 7 years ago
I contacted EA support 3 times with these issues and they dont know how to fix it. Ive send reports and pretty much tried every troubleshooting step they have send me but it seems that only answer i get its connection issue, yes a connection issue makes my game freeze and Crash (which probably is bs cause i have been in discord with my friend when it happens)

The game is broke for AMD FX 6XXX CPUs. You need to disable your 5th and 6th cores to play the game without crashing, and this is not a healthy option. FX 6xxx users, wait a fix.
- 7 years agoI've seen intel users have this issue as well.. though i'm trying something with putting the resolution to 1280-720 and its helping. Though i don't discount this theory cause there are a lot of us FX users having this issue
- 7 years agoI run the game on an i5-3450 and it crashes 3/5 games.

I've disabled the 5th and 6th cores but still getting the error, less frequently tho

I found a fix for myself
Go to origin options, and pretty much close all of the Origins's net connections (Disabled origin in-game, disabled all notifications, disabled cloud save, disabled Share system interaction data, and disable all of the origin updates stuff)
Hope it will fix it for you guys aswell! 🙂
- 7 years agoI tried that also it didn't work for me but maybe someone else will have some luck. I'll just wait for a fix..

I had the same problem (freeze of 10 seconds followed by crashs, never finished a game), and manage to fix it yesterday.
My setup is the following:
graphic card: Nvidia GTX 1070, driver 418.81
processor: Intel i7-7800k
ram: 16 Go
Downgrade driver didn't work, and other workaround like close discord, close origin's connections, etc... didn't work.
However, decrease the VRAM allowed to the game worked. From 8Go I set 4Gb and set all settings to mid instead of max and the game never freeze or crash by after.
I guess that the game detect 8Go on my card and try to fullfil this space, but there isn't enough FREE space, and so it must start to use RAM, and that will lead to huge freezes...
After this fix, 5 hours of play without crash 🙂

I wanted to ask yall, if all of you are using a Multi-monitor set up, and have you tried just running on a single monitor with the others turned off and see if that helps at all.
- MeatTubeSqueezin7 years agoNew Novice
Some things I tried:
If you multi-monitors, disable your extra monitors.
If you have El Gato, disable that.
Reinstall the game and stick with the default game settings.
Never alt-tab when full screen.
Some people swear that switching from an SSD to an HDD helped them.
Turned off any overlay, to include Origin, Steam, Discord, Overwolf, Nvidia, Windows Game Bar, etc.
I did the things above, cleared my temp storage and I was able to play 6 games without a crash, with full 1440p resolution. I have a 1080 ti Gigabyte Xtreme, 7700k. I shouldnt be getting crash to desktop like this.
