In return, the game has started to crash occasionally, so it's just trading bad for worse, goddamn.

Same here, having problems maintaining smooth FPS in Apex when other games run smooth as butter. I've been through about every "optimization" guide out there for modifying 3D settings in the Nvidia control panel with no success. In game settings turned to low or modified to reduce CPU load, the game continues to stutter or choke every few seconds for a frame or two. Should not be happening on the hardware I'm running, as I'm sure others are as well.

16Gb 2133 DDR3 RAM
i7-4790k
GTX 1080TI 11gb
Seems overkill on hardware to me with a slightly older CPU. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
EDIT- For anyone still looking for a resolution I finally found something that helped in another thread. Game still doesn't run perfect but apparently the polling rate on some mice doesn't cooperate well with Apex Legends or some other games in the series like TitanFall. I dropped my polling rate from 1000Mhz down to 500, or even 125 to fix the stuttering.
