Apex Legends FPS drop and packet loss after S29 split 2 update

before the update, i can play the game on 144 fps without a single fps drop. but after this update, my fps just gone worse. i cant touch 120 fps in an intense situation and my internet is very laggy. i got a packet loss  although i already restart my router. i've contacted my ISP and they already reset it but still cant fix this problem. also the anticheat crashed few times and also it said that unable To connect to EA servers

i've tried many possible solutions on the internet but still not fixed. i have a rtx 5050 and a i7-13650 hx incase thats help

  • Hey alamakgantengnyo,

We're currently looking into reports of FPS drops since the patch, and as Hymma mentioned one potential workaround at the moment is to disable Hyperthreading if you have that active. You can check here for more details.

If that doesn't do the trick and you're still seeing the same issue after that however, please keep an eye out for any updates and we'll provide more information as we get it. Thanks for the patience in the meantime!

I'm fully aware of what it does. I think the blanket "solution" is so misleading and I am asking them to not recommend gimping your PC for something they caused. And the fact that most users probably over 50% don't really understand what Hyperthreading is nor what it does.

To the best of my knowledge, disabling hyperthreading doesn't cause harm to your computer.
Hyperthreading in a few words, makes your physical cpu cores "work" as 2 "virtual" cores. Enabling and disabling it doesn't cause harm in the sense that it is simply used to take maximum advantage of your system. Mostly in rendering tasks. Does it change the way your PC works? No. Does it increase FPS in other games? Maybe its a debated topic that depends on how the game itself uses the CPU. Some games yes some games no.
Is it 1000% safe and garanteed? No. Hyperthreading, since it does mess with how hardware is used, can cause crashes and other weird things to happen to your SOFTWARE.

Proceed at your own risk. It worked for me and didn't compromise my computer in any way. Intel i9-13900KF with 4080.

Disabling hyperthreading is not a solution that is just causing other problems. Please don't recommend this if we don't fully detail what else it will do to peoples pc's.

Apparently, disabling Hyperthreading in the BIOS fixed the issue for me.
Give it a shot maybe it works
