Apex Legends Random Crashes After 2-3 Hours

Hi everyone,

I'm experiencing consistent crashes in Apex Legends and need help. The game crashes randomly after 2-3 hours of gameplay with no error message - it just closes to desktop instantly.

My System Configuration:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9800X3D
  • GPU: NVIDIA RTX 5080
  • Motherboard: ASUS ROG STRIX X870-A
  • OS: Windows (latest version)

What I've Already Tried (Following EA Support Recommendations):

BIOS Settings:

  • Precision Boost Overdrive (PBO): Disabled
  • SoC/Uncore OC Mode: Disabled
  • All CPU overclocking disabled - running at stock clocks

GPU Settings:

  • NVIDIA Control Panel: Debug Mode enabled (forces reference clocks)
  • No overclocking - stock GPU settings
  • Latest NVIDIA drivers installed

In-Game & Software:

  • All overlays disabled (Steam, Discord, GeForce Experience)
  • Game files verified multiple times
  • Tried lowering graphics settings
  • Running game as administrator
  • All background apps closed (no MSI Afterburner, Razer Synapse, etc.)

Additional Steps:

  • EA App cache cleared
  • Tried disabling MediaTek wireless network card
  • Generated DxDiag logs for EA support

Important Context:

  • Other games work perfectly fine (Battlefield 5, Battlefield 6, etc.) - NO crashes
  • Crashes happen regardless of game mode (happens during ranked matches too, causing penalties)
  • No error messages - just instant crash to desktop
  • Happens consistently after 2-3 hours of gameplay

EA Support Response: I've contacted EA Support multiple times. They acknowledged this appears to be a known issue with high-end hardware and said the development team is investigating. However, even after following all their workaround steps, the problem persists.

Question: Is anyone else experiencing similar crashes with Ryzen 9000 series or RTX 5000 series cards? This seems to be an Apex-specific issue since other demanding games run flawlessly on the same hardware.

Any additional suggestions or confirmation from Respawn would be greatly appreciated. This makes ranked play nearly impossible.

Thanks in advance!

  • I read on one of the forums that disabling the Wi-Fi module helped someone. I'll check it today and report back with the results.

Man, you've tried way more than I have - even swapped RAM and reinstalled Windows multiple times. That pretty much confirms this isn't something we can fix on our end.

At this point I don't even feel like playing this broken game anymore. The game is just as bad as its publisher. We've done everything we can, and Respawn still hasn't acknowledged the issue or responded to any of our posts.

I guess we just have to wait for them to fix it - if they ever do. Thanks for sharing your experience though, at least we know we're not alone in this.

  • After the last two updates, CPU runs hotter and then crashes to BSOD. Running AMD 5800X, MSI 550F II MB 32Gb Ram 3200. Did not have this issue after updating hardware. Just happened after updates. Any fixes soon?

  • I've never had any problems with Battelfield. But here's what I've tried recently: resetting the BIOS to default, switching secure boot settings (standard, custom), completely replacing the RAM, using an optimized RAM profile in the MSI BIOS, BIOS update, reinstalling Windows 10, Windows 11 on 23h2, 24h2, and 25h2. Disabling Windows Defender, adding EAC to the exceptions list, running Steam, Apex, and EAC as administrator. There might be something else, but I can't remember; I'm so tired of fixing one game when all the others are working perfectly. My friend built a similar PC with a 9800x3D and his game crashes like this. I don't think the problem is with the RAM or other components, otherwise he would have problems with other games.

Battlefield 6 has always been fine for me, no issues at all. It's only Apex that crashes. The most frustrating part? Last night after the game crashed, it had the audacity to pop up a survey asking "How was your experience?" Seriously?

  • Other games work fine, even Battlefield 6 after the latest update, which has been having problems. I only find one error message  "File System Filter 'EasyAntiCheat_EOSSys' (10.0, ‎2025‎-‎11‎-‎19T18:06:28.000000000Z) has unloaded successfully". but I think it occurs as a result of the game closing. I've already tried everything I found on the internet and forums.

Thanks for confirming. It's clear this is a widespread issue affecting 9800X3D users across different motherboard brands and GPU models.

Just so you know, Respawn is aware this is an issue on their end. It seems like they're waiting to see how many players are affected before prioritizing a fix. The more people report this problem, the sooner they'll address it.

If you haven't already, I'd recommend submitting a bug report through EA Help so they can track the number of affected users.

One thing I wanted to mention: this wasn't happening in earlier seasons. The crashes only started appearing in the last few seasons, so it might be related to a recent game update rather than purely a hardware issue.

  • My friend and I are having the exact same problem. We have almost identical hardware, just different motherboards. I've tried everything you described above. So far, nothing has helped; it still crashes after 1-3 hours of play.

    My System Configuration:

    • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
    • GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4080
    • Motherboard: MSI MAG B850M MORTAR WIFI
    • OS: Windows (latest version)
