[Apex Legends] Windows mouse cursor stays persistent in game

Product: EA Desktop
Platform:PC
Error Report ID (learn how to create an Error Report ID in the sticky post) f99f823d-4047-4a84-9c08-eaaee10a4cbe
Which client functionality are you experiencing this bug with? Other (Please Describe)
Please describe Mouse movement in Apex Legends moves off screen if running a 2nd monitor
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) 23.09.20 14:00
Summarize your bug The Windows cursor (arrow) stays on screen persistently in game and moving the mouse around the screen may result in the cursor moving to the 2nd monitor if the screen setup is set to "Extend Desktop to 2nd Monitor".
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? - Run Apex Legends on a system with more than one monitor - Ensure monitor setup is set to Extend Desktop - Start Apex Legends
What happens when the bug occurs? The Windows OS mouse cursor stays on screen. Whether it is in Full Screen mode or in Borderless Window mode Moving your character around to look or move, results in moving the Windows mouse cursor along with the in-game character. You will be able to move the mouse cursor off screen to your 2nd monitor.
What do you expect to see? The Operating System (Windows) mouse cursor should not be active while in a game.

This problem existed in Origin so I think it's a similar issue with EA Desktop app now.

In Apex Legends, whether in Full Screen or Borderless Window, the mouse cursor will go off screen if running multiple monitors. This used to be an "overlay" issue running, where turning off the in-game overlay for Origin would fix it. Now turning off EA Desktop overlay does not resolve the issue.

If you have Discord overlay also on while Origin overlay is on, the cursor will show, but once you disable either Discord or Origin overlay the issue is fixed. I know this is the case for Origin but I'm not sure with EA Desktop

  • I have Discord overlay on and its hasn't caused the issue for Origin....I've had to disable Origin in-game overlay tho.

So from my testing, disabling ingame overlay for EA Desktop app does not fix it.

So, if you have already disabled the Origin overlay, of course it won't happen when Discord one is on. You could try turning off the Discord overlay and see if that "fixes" it. But yeah, if disabling EA Desktop overlay doesn't fix it, they need to carry over the fix from Origin to EA Desktop

  • im having this issue now out of nowhere anyone resolve this yet or have a fix none of my overlays are active and im running dual moniter never had this issue for years now all of a sudden its become a serious problem?...

  • This doesn't work for me, I turned off both discord overlay, and in-game origin overlay and the issue persists.
