Apex PC screen and audio freezes
After a few minutes of the game running fine it starts freezing every 10 seconds or so for a quick second. The screen freezes and audio sounds like it is glitching out, then the game continues for 10s before repeating. I haven't played in at least a year maybe 2 and never used to be an issue. I've tried:
- playing on ea and steam both the same.
- updated drivers
- repaired game files
- uninstall/reinstall
- lowering graphics to mid range and as low as they will go.
- disabling vsync
- disaling frame rate limits
- playing with launch options
- playing with no launch options
- disabling steam/ea/nvidia overlays
- lowering mouse polling rates as I saw that was having issues
- playing with a wired mouse instead of wireless
- playing fullscreen
- playing windowed borderless
- lowering resolution to 1080p
PC specs are:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7900X 12-Core Processor (4.70 GHz)
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 4080
- RAM: 32.0 GB
- Storage: 2x 2TB SSD
- GPU Driver: Game Ready Driver - 580.88 - Thu July 21 2025
Any ideas on what is going on? At this point it's looking like an uninstall and forget it ever existed.
If your motherboard has Wi-Fi, I suggest you try turning it off. It might help.
