Banned from Apex, but haven't played in over a year?
Hello,
Today I was scrolling through my email and noticed I received an email from EA. Inside was the following message:
Hello,
We noticed that your EA account broke EA’s gameplay rules.
Because your account was cheating, we’ve permanently blocked your access to Apex Legends’ online features.
Now, I haven't played Apex since the release of Octane and Wattson. I believe I played one single game when the first new map came out. Since then, I haven't played. You can even see my last in-game achievement was March 2019. Back on April 1st I decided to reinstall the game because a few friends said they wanted to get back into the game. I loaded up the game and played one of the training matches just to mess around with the new weapons and gear that have been added since I last played. After playing around with the training mode, I quit playing for the night, and haven't opened up the game since.
Now I hear my account has been banned? Originally I wasn't too upset as I haven't played in quite a while... but then I started thinking about all the money I put into new heroes, skins, loot boxes, founders packs, and all my exclusive skins from Twitch and such. I really don't want to lose all that for nothing. I've been nothing but an honest gamer, and have even participated in EA Playtesting, and been an avid EA Play subscriber (before it went to Game Pass). I've never cheated, and haven't even been playing the game to be picked up for cheating. I tried to find a way to look up game history to see if someone has been using my account, but there doesn't appear to be a way to do so... but if there is any game activity in the past couple years, it hasn't been me. I just also think it's weird that I received this message just a couple weeks after opening the game for the first time in years.
I should also add that I just went and changed my password today and added 2FA to my account in case my account was compromised.
