Can no longer sign in, only gives option to register for APEX

I can no longer log into Apex through my steam, after the game launches It tells me to register for the game and when I press register It just sends me to EA website in the steam overlay with the prompt to reset my password, which resetting my password does not fix the problem. I don't understand what caused this as I have 650 hours on this account through my steam and have never had this issue before. I also know its isolated to specifically my steam account because I was able to make a new steam account and play on that with no problem. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling as well as verifying integrity of game files but neither seemed to work. Any help would be very appreciated.
