  • Also having this issue. Peacefully grinded my way from Silver 2 to Platinum 4 when the season started. No crash issue at all, what I think was just dumb luck.

The other day I was streaming Apex through OBS and got a BSOD. Thought it might be due to the stream, so I didn't play it on stream, anymore.

Yesterday I got a BSOD just in the middle of a round after less than 1 hour of playing. Today I got one after not even 15 minutes.

    System specs:

    GTX 1060, 6GB

    i7-3770

    16 GB DDR3

    Windows 7

Game became effectively unplayable, as I don't want to risk my PC taking any harm whatsoever. A game crash is a game crash, but when it goes as far as having a BSOD I'm not taking any chances.

Hope we'll get down to this quickly so we (those affected by the issue) can start playing the game again without the constant fear of risking our system.

  • I have the same issue, I just have to start the game (I dont have to be in a match) and after almost exactly 15-16min. it crashes with a BSOD "Page fault in non paged area".
The only thing that changed when it started crashing like that was Apex itself with an update 4 weeks ago.
Sad thing is, it is reproducible: I start my PC, I start Apex, then it crashes, then restart PC it does exactly the same and after the second restart it DOESN'T happen and I can play Apex normally as before the patch.

    OS: Win10

    CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600
    Mainboard: MSI B450-A Pro
    RAM: 2x8GB DDR4-3200 G.Skill CL16
GPU: MSI RX Vega 56 AIR BOOST 8G OC

EDIT: I've checked my RAM with memtest for 3hours, there are no problems found.

@AramanserTtv seems like no one just reading about this problem. Im starting to be very upset about game dev priorities.

I wont play any more till they solve this i already lost 1 harddrive on all those BSOD, wont do it twice.

I seriously don't want to believe it, but it seems they don't care as we, those experiencing this issue, are just a tiny minority of people.

I'd even apprechiate an "We've taken note of this issue and working on resolving it.", but nothing so far. Very disappointing.

Haven't played Apex for roughly 2 weeks now, as I don't want to risk harming my system in any way. Even if the issue will be addressed and fixed at some point during this season grinding up to lvl 110 could be sheer impossible without playing all around the clock.

It's sad, but better safe than sorry. Rather not play Apex anymore (until an actual working fix gets rolled out) than getting even more trouble with my PC.

  • 1.

     2.

    • open cmd as admin
    • write in (you can copy this and past into cmd by right click into cmd): sfc/scannow
    • if there are some problems found, write: dism/Online/Cleanup-Image/ScanHealth
    • after this put in: dism/Online/Cleanup-Image/RestoreHealth
    • reboot your system by wirting into cmd: shutdown -r -f -t 0
  • I was having the same problem. BSOD becose of "EasyAntiCheat. The real problem were my graphic drivers. I uninstaled them with Display driver Uninstaller (https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html). With this uninstaller the graphic drivers are removed without leaving leftovers behind (including registry keys, folders and files). I then installed the newest drivers from the web and boom, Apex works perfectly. Didn't think that the graphic drivers would be the cause when in the BSOD text said, it's EasyAntiCheat. Hope this helps.

  • Hello EA Support, please help me as this is the second bluescreen in 2 weeks on Apex Legends launch. No errors when launching any other programs and games on my PC.

    Product: Apex Legends
    Platform:PC
Please specify your platform model. PC

Which part of the map or menu were you in? If you don't remember the exact name, please describe the area or what you were trying to do in the menu. I was updating the new Apex Legends patch, then installed the new Origin client update and after that Origin was "syncing the Apex Legends game files", then it was verifying the game files and when it finalized and said it´s ready to start,  I got the bluescreen when I pressed launch
How many matches had you played in a row before the issue occurred? Played about 5-10 matches before the rank reset. Then I had to restart Apex Legends and Origin to install the updates, so in this case directly 0 games
    When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) 01.07.20 00:20 GMT +2
How often does the bug occur? Occasionally (5%) on two days in 2 Weeks ~ didn´t happen on all the other 12 days.
How severe is your issue? Very severe. Bluescreen Fatal system error. "It indicates a system crash, in which the operating system has reached a condition where it can no longer operate safely. This is caused by many different problems, such as a general hardware failure or a crucial process terminating unexpectedly."

What happens when the bug occurs? Blue Screen of Windows appears with an EasyAntiCheat.sys crash saying PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA (EasyAntiCheat.sys). I already reinstalled full game, origin and easyanticheat.exe and it continues happening.
What should be happening instead? Not crashing my entire PC like it did for 1 year and 4 months
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? If you have a PC with the exact same hardware that I have and Origin, Apex Legends, Easyanticheat on+Bullguard, Flux, Razer Central and Razer Synapse then maybe you will experience the same.

I Post on forums two weeks ago, error messages, third party programs, nvidia driver.

I had the same problem on 15th June 2020, then I made this post on forums: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Bluescreen-EasyAntiCheat-after-Apex-Legends-launch/m-p/9226329 Blue Screen of Windows appears with an EasyAntiCheat.sys crash saying PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA.

After doing all the changes I could play Apex Legends for two weeks until yesterdays update and the rank reset https://twitter.com/tangentiallogic/status/1277994940346232834?s=21. After the pressing the picture to launch apex legends after the rank reset in the origin menu the bluescreen happened again.

The Easy Anti-Cheat Game Security Violation Detected message didn´t show up for a few days, too, but then it came back. "Game Security Violation" kept showing in Origin, every time I closed Apex Legends after a few days, gosh it´s so annoying. I don´t get any game security violation messages when I play valve / blizzard / riot games.

    https://www.easy.ac/en-us/support/game/issues/errors/

The game process or system's integrity has been compromised and the game will exit. This is usually caused by outdated or insecure background third party software. To resolve this, update or disable background third party software and restart your PC."

On the easy-anti-cheat errors website it says "This is usually caused by outdated or insecure background third party software." This is so vague. I don´t know what I am supposed to do, which program is it that causes this...

Programs I had on except Origin and Apex Legends:

    1. Razer Central
    2. Razer Synapse
    3.  f.lux
    4. Riot Vanguard

Do any of these programs conflict with Apex Legends and cause this EasyAntiCheat message?

Important note: This error NEVER happened between Apex Legends game release on February 4th 2019 until 15th June 2020 for me. I had 430.86 nvidia driver installed from February 4th 2019 to 12th June 2020 and never had that problem.

After doing a clean install of the Nvidia Driver 446.14 for my Geforce GTX 1060 6 GB on 12th June 2020 and playing Apex Legends on 15th June 2020 I got my first bluescreen.

Second bluescreen now on 01th July 2020 with driver 451.48 (clean new install). Both time error happened at when pressing the picture to launch apex legends in the origin menu.

II Guides helped to boost FPS, recording with OBS is a problem?

The other difference yesterday was that I also had OBS Studio on to record my gameplay in 720p and improved my OBS + nvidia graphic card settings with those two guides:
    https://www.gamepur.com/guides/apex-legends-best-settings-boost-fps-low-end-pc https://appuals.com/what-are-the-best-obs-settings-for-recording/

These guides really worked they gave Apex Legends a constant 120-145 fps even while recording instead of randomly jumping from 145fps to 80 fps in fights. I have seen other people make forum posts saying they have Bluescreens when either streaming or recording their Apex Legends gameplay, too, however I have made more than 10 Apex Legends videos in 2019 where I either recorded or streamed my gameplay and never had any issues except that the "Easy Anti-Cheat Game Security Violation Detected" showed up in origin after closing Apex Legends:
    http://www.youtube.com/Amomentforever/

This is why I don´t think it is a issue with OBS and recording my gameplay in 720p, because the bluescreen happened at launch of Apex Legends, when I hadn´t yet pressed "Start Recording". My PC is not powerful enough to record in 1080p and play lag-free Apex Legends on lowest settings.

III Everything else I have done:

    1. Installed latest nvidia graphic driver 451.48 (clean new install)
    2. Installed latest Windows updates
    3. Did the sfc/scannow - the windows-ressource protection didn´t find any integrity violation - everything is fine
    4. Did msdsched.exe (Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool) windows memory diagnostic -> no problems were found -> after the restart it said again "no problems were found"
    5. Made space on my C drive - SSD and make some more space on my internal hard drive where Apex is installed
    6. Removed all dust inside of my PC (was quiet a lot)
    7. Repaired Easy Anti Cheat with Repair Service
    8. Went to system -> advanced system settings -> performance -> settings -> virtual memory and increased Page File size to:

    1st July 2020.

    Custom size:

    Minimum 1657 MB

    Maximum 12288 MB

    30th June 2020

    Custom size:

    Minimum 4589 MB

    Maximum 9178 MB

    10th June 2020

And even before that with "manage automatic page file size for all drives" it was:

    Minimum: 16 MB

    Recommended: 4589MB

    Current: 8192MB

    9. For the game security violation I added new rules to my AntiVirus program Bullguard for the EasyAntiCheat_launcher.exe and EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe. I had no more error messages for a few days, then the error messages got back... so my antivirus as "third party software" is not the problem with origin and EasyAntiCheat. I was hoping it was that...

    10. Turned off windows firewall and real time protection and let my bullguard antivirus handle it

    11. Uninstalled another anti-virus program that was installed

12, Went  to microsoft: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads downloaded both files, vc_redist.x86.exe & vc_redist.x64.exe, installed both and reboot

IV What I haven´t done yet:

    1. However, I did not do what said which is to use this uninstaller: "the graphic drivers are removed without leaving leftovers behind (including registry keys, folders and files). https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html). Maybe there really are some registry keys, folders and files that are causing this issue.I did a clean install for my Nvidia driver like the Nvidia support employee told me.
    2. I don´t have enough space to install Apex Legends on my small SSD, so it´s on one of my hard drives - is that a problem? It worked from February 4th 2019 until 15th June 2020 for me on my hard drive, so it shouldn´t be...
    3. Is it better to let the system handle the page file size after all, maybe it was not a good advice to select custom size from @Konform103 https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Bluescreen-EasyAntiCheat-after-Apex-Legends-launch/m-p/9226329
    4. "remove all microsoft visual c++ programms from your pc" which of those are safe to remove? I have so many installed... I read on other websites you shouldn´t uninstall them, because it makes other games and programs not run properly.
    5. Should I remove my 2nd monitor? Maybe it´s too much to handle for Apex with two monitors on. For example when I have any other program (browser, music program, livestream) on my 2nd monitor while playing Apex Legends on the lowest settings it will slow down my pc tremendously.
https://www.gamepur.com/guides/apex-legends-best-settings-boost-fps-low-end-pc  lowest settings explained here at the very bottom of that website- those were my settings.
    6. Complete reinstall of windows 8.1 or buy windows 10 and update to windows 10
      7. Complete reinstall of all drivers and program

Where can I find the Windows file that has my bluescreen message?? I want to post it here.

    V Closing words

    Pleeeease help me...

I want to play Apex Legends and make some YouTube videos with it so other people can forget about the problems in their lives and have fun watching my video, but now I uninstalled the game and origin, because I am scared of these two bluescreens on 15th june and today 1st july.

Like LacenPero said "It's sad, but better safe than sorry. Rather not play Apex anymore (until an actual working fix gets rolled out) than getting even more trouble with my PC."Any other program and game on my PC is working fine, some games are a bit slower, because my PC isn´t that good anymore even on lowest or medium settings, but only Apex Legends PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA (EasyAntiCheat.sys) causes the Bluescreens...

I´m certain that if I reinstall everything again I can play again for a while, maybe again for two weeks with no problems, but I want to think about Apex Legends gameplay winning and having fun when I play and not about “when is the next bluescreen coming”, “will I get a bluescreen when I click launch Apex Legends”…

  • I am also encountering this same issue. However, for me it tends to happen when *launching* Apex.

Apparently we can't upload .dmp files here?
