Crossplay Issues (Xbox Child Acct + PC)

Hello,

We've been trying to play Apex Legends with an Xbox Child Account + PC account.

Xbox account has Live Gold and plays Apex Legends with multiple friends (on Xbox). I disabled all of the child settings on the console and online, and cross-play, adding friends, etc. was already allowed.

We can find each other's user name and it says sent but then nothing pops up on the other person's screen.

We signed out of the child account and signed into an adult xbox account, then successfully added both for crossplay... But this doesn't help because he wants to use his Xbox  account he's been using for over a year (level 61).

I've verified that the two accounts aren't associated to the same EA Origin account... I even tried creating a new Origin account on PC and it still didn't work.

Can anybody help?

  • As he couldn't play with his friends on the xbox due to the setting being greyed out he downloaded apex legends on his switch to play with them. When we logged in using the same EA account and none of his progress or skins were on the account and he had to start again so it looks like a whole new account.

He wants to play on xbox with his friends so he has all his progress etc and prefers playing on the xbox but can't because of the cross platform setting being greyed out.

I see, thanks for the details. Apex Legends doesn't have any sort of cross-platform progression, so unfortunately none of his progress would carry over to the Switch.

Do you have parental controls set up on your son's Xbox account? If so, have you had the chance to double-check and make sure that cross-play is allowed under the parental controls? If that option is disabled in the Xbox settings it might be why he's not able to play with his friends there.

  • Hi,

All xbox settings are correct, he plays cross platform on fortnite fine. No parental controls and it's not a child account as its mine. We don't have separate accounts its all one.

    Thanks,

  • I’ve done this as well and I’m still having the same issue.
