Failed Cross-Progression Merge - PlayStation Account Overwritten

I started playing Apex Legends on PlayStation around 2020 and my goal was to bring that specific progress over to PC. My PSN and EA accounts were already linked long before Cross-Progression was introduced.

A few days ago, I launched Apex on PC, but instead of merging my data and transferring my PS progress to PC, the system created a brand new level 1 account. When I tried to log back into my original account on PlayStation, I found that my old progress (levels, skins, and items) had been completely overwritten by this new level 1 PC account.

I am now stuck with a fresh account on both platforms and my original PlayStation progress from 2020 is missing. Both platforms are on the same EA account. I need help restoring my original PlayStation data and ensuring it is synced as my primary progress on my PC as well

    Hey TeggyTekk,

Just to clarify, progress is not merged from one platform to another (PlayStation <-> PC), but is actually stored at the EA account level. This was true before Cross Progression as well. With the introduction of Cross Progression, any platforms linked to that same EA account would be able to access the progress there.

The EA account you're currently posting with had never launched Apex Legends on PlayStation until very recently, so since you've been playing since 2020 there must be another EA account out there with that progress. It looks like the PSN account currently linked was attached at some point last year, actually about the same time as this EA account first launched Apex Legends on PC.

This is why you're only seeing the level 1 account even when logging in on PlayStation - this particular EA account just doesn't have any progress. If there's another email or account you may have used in the past, I'd definitely try logging in there on PC to see if that's where your content's currently located. You'll need to re-link your PSN account to whichever EA account was used originally to try restoring access to that progress.

We are not able to make any changes to your account status or progress via the forums, but if something was linked or unlinked incorrectly it may be worth contacting support to see if the original platform can be re-linked.

  • the exact same thing happened to me bro and its like trying to get blood out of a stone trying to get my original account back , ive never seen such atrocious "cross-progression"
