The weird part is that performance was totally fine on my system before the recent patch, I consistently got over 145 FPS at 1080p (all low) with no drops, even in fights. After the patch, something changed drastically. Now I get huge drops to 40–80 FPS depending on where I look, which clearly didn’t happen before.
I’m on Windows 11 23H2 (core isolation off & background apps disabled). The issue started exactly after the recent patch. I still hope they address whatever's going wrong with AMD. It’s weird how one update can flip performance upside down.
Thanks for chiming in, helps to know it’s not just me.
I did not notice any difference after recent patch on the other hand as said above I have been playing on sub-par settings for 1+ season now = it kinda always feels off.
But yeah what I have not seen since season 7 in terms of fps drops:
- looking outside the ship through "exhaust" effect
- dive trails of certain animations
- opening loot bins
- looking into loot bin full screen
- looking at water always had made huge FPS drops and still do e.g. on top of Olympus near Hammonds labs
- certain gun / grande effects
- running as Wraith when creating portal (also has this motion blur type of animation that just crashes fps)
- looking at more open space revealing more map space
- during fights (basically why I switched to above mentioned setting as I could not track s#%@ while doing 40%+ accuracy in aim training and games like Overwatch)
- while being in zone and having that "hickup" animation, basically I can hardly hit a bullet while in zone
- Catalyst ult (wall)
- Bangalore smoke
Probably forgot a few more that over time just made my fps dip below 100 :)

That’s the thing, I didn’t have any of those issues before the patch. My FPS was always solid, even during portal animations, loot bins, Bangalore smoke, Catalyst wall, all of it. I’ve been running 145+ FPS consistently for over a season without problems.
It only started after the latest patch. Now I’m getting drops to 40–80 FPS just by looking in certain directions, even when nothing’s happening. It’s not tied to effects or fights, just turning the camera causes FPS drop. Something definitely changed on the engine side with this update.
