game breaking error - event viewer shows error: 0xC0000035

For the last few seasons of Apex I have noticed everytime I get this error "Session "dfa2c640-651d-488d-a479-2fd7a7ca6e29" failed to start with the following error: 0xC0000035" in event viewer the game stops running smoothly as normal. It happens in or between matches and is a noticable difference in game. My shots stop registering or everything appears to be laggy etc

Steps I've taken:

  • -Googled it but no clear solutions
  • -Tried fresh install of both Windows 10 & 11 (along with sfc /scannow and DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth, clean boot, disk clean up / defrag)
  • -Tried a range of Nvidia drivers
  • -I run apex & easy anticheat as admin & with full screen optimisation disabled
  • - installed Apex from both steam & EA app

System specs:

  • AMD Ryzen 9 5900x
  • 32GB RAM DDR4
  • Nvidia 3080 12GB
  • Nvme 1tb gen 4
  • Internet connection 1gbps download, 150mbps upload, ping on test around 11ms, ping to server between 20ms - 40ms

Currently the only way for this to be "fixed" again is to either restart the game or PC. Sometimes if I have restarted the game a few times I have to restart the PC

  • I had this same issue recently and seemed to have resolved it, haven't had any crashes for a couple of days.

Try to follow these steps from a reddit comment here. (I'm still seeing Event Viewer errors related to the process, but no more crashes in the game at least.)

I have found a solution to this error. You need to set the session to "File" instead of "Realtime" and set up circular logging with a maximum file size of 200MB. Here is how to do that:

    1. Open Perfomance Monitor
    2. Data Collector Sets >> Event Trace Sessions
    3. Right-click on the session and stop it.
    4. Right-click the session and go to properties
    5. Change:
      1. Trace Session: Change "Stream Mode" to File
      2. Directory: Ensure that the folder exists, create it in the file explorer if needed. You can change where you want this file stored, but I would keep it on your Windows drive. You may need to use an elevated command line to create the directory if you do not have permissions to do so.
      3. Stop Condition: Set "Maximum size" to a min of 64MB, up to 200MB. Make it as large as your system allows you to up to a max of 200MB.
      4. File: Check "Circular"... this will only be possible if you did step C
      5. APPLY ALL CHANGES
    6. Right-click the session and start it again.

Now you should notice that the file has been created in the directory you pointed to. This file will max out at a size of 200MB or whatever you set it to. You will no longer receive the error in the Event Viewer, but you still get the benefits of the session being logged. Hope that helps someone as it to me forever to figure it out.

Well still getting this issue, from digging around as much as possible it seems to be linked to Easy Anti Cheat but I cannot be sure. Within 2 hours of game play I keep getting the error below:
