How do I enable cross-progression between Steam and PSN on the same EA account?

I’m a bit confused about how cross-progression works and was hoping someone could help.

I currently have both my Steam account and my PlayStation Network (PSN) account linked to the same EA account. From what I understand, that should allow cross-progression, but I’m not sure how to actually enable or use it.

Do I need to turn on cross-progression somewhere in settings, or is it automatic once both platforms are linked to the same EA account? Also, should my progress (levels, items, etc.) sync right away, or is there something else I need to do?

If anyone has gone through this or knows the steps, I’d really appreciate the help.
