i'm getting mixed signals if my account is egible

I recently wanted to play back on my PlayStation account and with cross-progression it seemed like a perfect time. I did find out that my PlayStation account was still linked to the wrong ea account. With some help of ea support I tracked the original ea account of my PlayStation account. But I needed to wait a bit before I could link it back. I decided to level my account on my pc already and left my other account in the dust because I'd spend money on my PlayStation account. It's been about a week and my account still didn't get transferred, so asked to support. (this is after I linked my PS account to it) They said because I triggered the cross-progress prompt before the original account was linked back that I would not receive cross-progression for my pc. Thus, I came here to ask because the previous guy that helped link the accounts together said it was fine, and I really hope he was right.
