Micro stutters could be a lot of things.

First of all I'd disable any background programs like Discord and anything that uses an overlay such as Geforce Experience.

It can also be due to your vsync settings since you mention using a command to cap FPS. I figure you have a 60hz monitor? Enable fast vsync if you canb (if you can't use fast vsync then just the regular vsync) with the Nvidia 3D settings for Apex and disable the vsync in-game. See if it makes a difference.

Disabling background processes like Enlyee suggested is a good idea. Can you try starting up your PC in a Clean Boot before launching Apex Legends to see if that makes any difference? If there is something running in the background that could be related to the stuttering that may help narrow it down.

For more details on how to set up a Clean Boot check out the EA Help website. Once you have the chance to give it a shot please let me know how it goes. Thanks!

  • @Enlyee I did try it the fps drops are still there. I just cant stop the drops. My rtx 2060 is not able to give consistent 60 fps for some weird reason on apex alone.
    Other games work perfectly fine.
  • @EA_Kent The clean boot didn't help as well.
I guess ill just have to stop playing apex then.
Why did the refresh rate to fps locking command [ -refresh (value) ] get discontinued?
this helped my game always to be stable.
now since the command isn't working i cant stabilise my fps in apex.

Thanks for giving it a shot. Would you mind sharing a DxDiag when you have the chance? You can find more info on how to pull one up at the EA Help website. Once you have the text file please attach it to this thread. Thanks!

    Thank you!

Is your CPU or GPU overclocked? If so, can you try reverting it back to the base clock speed to test and see if that makes a difference?

  • @EA_Kent I did test it on base clock, the fps drops are still there.
Its the refresh late to fps locking command man. It was working super good before it got discontinued.
Now the fps whenever it goes down by 1 or 2 frames the stutters on my screen is super visible and annoying to play with.

    Got it, thanks!

Is your refresh rate set to 60 FPS? Enabling vsync in-game doesn't make any difference?

  • @EA_Kent it adds input lag by a lot
Nothing helpful with vsync. The fps is still dropping.
I think we've done our best. I'll just play apex after a while. :'')

    Thank you for the updates!

I am curious what might happen if you reverted back to an older NVIDIA driver. If possible, can you try rolling back to the previous driver to test and see if that makes any difference?
