Stuck on compiling shaders

Product: Apex Legends
Platform:PC
Please specify your platform model. PC
AMD or Nvidia Model Number Nvidia GTX 1070
Enter RAM memory size in GB 32GB
What is your gamertag/PSN ID/EA Account name? Skip Skoop
Please provide your squad mates' gamertag/PSN ID/EA Account name if possible.
Are you using any software with an overlay? No
Which Legend were you playing (if applicable)?
Which Legends were your squad mates using (if applicable)?
Where did the issue occur? In the lobby (waiting area before the match)
Which part of the map or menu were you in? If you don't remember the exact name, please describe the area or what you were trying to do in the menu. Wasn't in a game
What were you doing when the issue occurred? E.g. respawning a squad mate at a beacon, using an ability, a squad mate left the game. I just opened the game
Did your squad mates also experience the issue? I don't know
How many matches had you played in a row before the issue occurred? 0
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm) 08/02/2022
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
How severe is your issue? Major impacts to gameplay
What happens when the bug occurs? When I try to play Apex Legends I start compiling shaders but once I get to around 1000-3000 done then my entire game freezes disabling me to even close the game or look in different tabs ex. When I try to open task manager the close the game I can't minimize Apex. This causes me to have to restart my computer to get it off my screen.
What should be happening instead? All the shaders should install and I should be put in the main menu.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? It seems to only been happening to me but it happens when I open the game before I can load into the lobby so I don't have steps to recreate

This is the picture I took while it was frozen

    Hi @skipskoop2

Have you had the chance to try repairing the game to see if that helps?

If you're launching Apex Legends through Origin, try right-clicking on the game in your Library and click the Repair option when the menu pops up. If you're using Steam, try verifying the integrity of the game files to see if that helps. You can find more info on how to verify the file integrity at the Steam support website

Let me know if it's still getting stuck at the same spot after that. Thanks!

  • I too have the same problem, please do let me know if you come across any solution.

    Hey @siddxxxxx

Mind sharing a DxDiag when you have the chance? You can find more info on how to pull one up at the EA Help website

Once you've got the text file please attach it to this thread. Thanks!
